This bowl way exceeded my expectations. The chrome finishing is smooth and immaculate. The bowl looks stunning. The size and shape are designed just right to whip up an insane lather (compared to my previous bowl) while allowing for a smooth whipping movement of the brush. This is a hollow insulated bowl which serves to keep the lather warm and moist once preheated and also makes the bowl light (but not flimsy). The grip is as if my hands and the bowl were made for each other. The design is wonderful with just the right curvature at the top which allows to create the lather without it spilling out (as would have happened in a more open bowl - example - a normal serving bowl) or without the opening constricting the movement of the brush (as would happen if it was more closed like a mason jar causing the familiar clattering noise as the brush hits the edge continually). This in itself is the work of a genius. Add to that the stunning aesthetics and finishing AND the price - I want to buy and hide away a hundred of these for myself and for gifting lest they become unavailable some time in the future (as is the case these days with almost every good product that you find - get enough of them before they are gone) ! I know that this review may sound over the top for some (for the review of a 'shaving bowl') - but believe me - I am not crazy - this bowl is just amazing (to me) !

First and foremost, I think this is a great buy. I think this is worth the $7 I paid for it. It fits great in the palm of my hand and I get a nice, easy lather when using it with my brush. This is definitely big enough for large brushes. Am I let down with the item I received based on price paid and functionality? Yes. Did I get what I expected or hoped for, no. When I read the description and saw stainless steel, I imagined something more rugged and heavy. This is super lightweight and almost feels like plastic with a cheap mirrored coating. The positive of this is it probably travels great (will be resting this out soon). The negative is it does tend to easily slip in my hand if things aren’t completely dry. Another positive is my shaving cream fits perfectly inside the bowl for storage and takes up less space. Regardless of being let down based off my own interpretations and expectations from reading the description, I still think this is a great buy for a $7 shaving bowl. If you want something more rugged and heavy duty like I did, you may not be happy. If you want a shaving bowl that gives you the best bang for your buck, this will make you happy. One issue I do have is the heat retention. This holds heat better than others I have tried, but I wouldn’t say I am satisfied. In my opinion, it doesn’t hold the heat that well.

This is just lovely to lather with. I wish I had stumbled upon this bowl a decade ago when I started wet shaving, I probably wouldn’t have bought so many. First, weight; it’s so light weight your arm doesn’t get tired if you take your time lathering. The size is so naturally perfect (I wear a man’s size M/L glove) it feels natural to hold. Third, the look; the beautiful polish is stunning and masculine, creates an impression - especially against darker counter tops. Other things I’ve lathered with are a black ceramic scuttle (you fill with hot water), a ceramic shave mug, vintage old spice mug, wooden bowls, cement bowls and the smaller cup version of this stainless steel style... all to say this one is just a sweet no-nonsense simple and perfect product. I wish it came with the lid, but m’eh. Unlike some of the other materials mentioned, it’s nice that my left arm doesn’t get tired holding a heavy bowl if I’m taking my time building lather. And though it doesn’t have grooves, notches or studded bumps inside the bowl to help build lather, it doesn’t need it - the brush glides so smoothly and easily over the steel the lather builds quickly enough. I also found that the shape of the walls created less foamy mess outside the bowl. Did the double insulation metal help the lather be warm? I dunno. I guess, it’s also summer. Was the lather cold when I brushed it on my face? Not really. All in all stellar performance for a simple affordable product.

Still going strong after ~3 years. It's very scratch resistant. I've dropped it in the bathroom multiple times and only had minor, teeny tiny dents. I've also left it in wet places like the shower, and there still isn't one speck of rust.

Ok, I know, it is a stainless steel bowl. How exciting can that be? Well, I can say it is a beautiful piece of equipment that absolutely does its job. After decades of buying razors, I got tired of the high prices and went back to a safety razor. I am getting the best shaves of my life and using actual shaving cream that you whip up in my bowl with a brush is very satisfying. This bowl rinses clean and is ready for its next use. It looks good with the razor and its stand and that container of shaving cream. One corner of my sink counter top is styling just fine with this shiny component. It was a great buy.

I have been searching for a travel and home shaving bowl and after returning or discarding numerous purchases I stumbled across the Perfecto bowl. One of the biggest complaints I have had with prior bowls is that they are either too small and/or too tall - both of which will make the process of making lather more difficult. This bowl hits the sweet spot.... it can be held in your hand, is wide enough so that lather can be made more efficiently and is not too deep. It is very well made and easily fits into a dopp bag. Highly recommended......
