Victorinox Swiss Classic 4-Inch Spear Tip, Serrated, Red Paring Knife

A sharp, serrated knife that is better than a straight blade knife for cutting tomato slices and other kitchen chores, ergonomic, lightweight and inexpensive. If I could have only one knife in the kitchen the Victorinox knife would be my choice. I even have given it as a stocking stuffer.

I like using this paring knife for cutting thick, or tough skin items such as Tomato's, Cucumbers, Oranges, Limes, Lemons and also for cutting grill cheese sandwiches. Lightweight, sharp - did I mention sharp?! I like it so much, I ordered the plain edge one for coring strawberry's, slicing cheese, slicing celery. Now, you might think that the serrated edge would be best for that, but nope. The celery has fibers running all the way through it and so the serrated edge catches just a bit on them making it slightly harder to slice through then using a straight edge paring knife. I ordered the four inch version(s) so it can double as a steak knife, however the 3.25 ones are excellent as well. They also come in a rounded edge if you want a knife that doubles as a cheese or butter spreader. No, I don't work for the company, I just like a well made, inexpensive (no, not cheap) functional knife.

My absolute favorite item in my kitchen. This knife is such a handy tool to have around for everyday cooking tasks. I try to keep 2 around at all times because we're always using them. Its something I recommend to anyone setting up their kitchen. You dont know until you have one around how much you'll use it, how sharp it really is, and what a durable piece you'll use for ages.

Best knives. Stays sharp. We got these for our wedding 7 years ago and it’s still sharp. We decided to buy another one.

Love these knives. I have several and it’s nice to have for different uses. Very handy.

I have used Victorinox knives all my life and the blade on these knives is of expected great quality. Just that I don't quite like the plastic handles on them (works fine when cutting/paring most veggies/fruits/etc) but I MUCH prefer them with wood handles. Unfortunately I don't see any of those with wood handle selling on Amazon like they used to. In any case, it's a great buy for money - last one I have been using for almost 7 years without any problem and still its sharp.

These little knives are super sharp. I have a set of very expensive knives and now I basically only use these. The peelers are my favorite as well. I also just throw them in the dishwasher.
