Where has this tool been all my life?
This is the basic version without bulb adapters and case but is less expensive. I don’t need the adapters and you may not either. The product works as is to troubleshoot open or short circuits.I have been a repair technician for 25 years. This tool does things no Fluke meter can and frankly it’s astonishing. Arrows and audible sounds tell you which direction along the wire your problem exists and lets you find a problem in seconds that would otherwise take hours or days. I will never leave for a job without it.

Great new tool
This thing really works well. I needed to do some work on a used Military M 1089. The wiring harness had been hacked into. It worked great. Wish I had one 20 years ago.

Time Saver
A very good short circuit tracer, helped me find a few loose & burned out wires I would not have found visually. Only thing I had with it was a little to bulky to get in to tight space.

ease of use
five stars all day long, after spending days looking for the short, giving up on it, spending $1200.00 at the shop only to have them tell it was fixed, it wasn't, in the end it took longer to figure out how to use it than to find the short, only bad comment would be that I now own power probe that will sit on the shelf collecting dust forever. that being said, amazing tool

This is not a device, this is advertised junk.
The device does not work as stated. I read the user manual. batteries The first two uses in the engine compartment of the car, the device gave only false alarms. It was impossible to find the right wire. The device was ringing everywhere. At the third connection, the transmitter began to show a short circuit, despite the fact that the probe was not connected. Reconnecting and replacing the batteries did not change the situation. It is impossible to use the device for its intended purpose. Wasted money. I do not recommend.

Unbelievably useful
The media could not be loaded. I don't know why I am reviewing this cause it is like free advertising for power probe....but if it will help you decide whether or not to purchase, here is my story using it. I have been a truck mechanic since 1983, and electrical issues have always been a pain in the butt. Troubleshooting an open or a short circuit being one of the most frustrating of them all. I purchased the ect3000 recently after watching a few YouTube vids. The video I uploaded was a recent job I was working on after two other technicians spent over $1500 and still couldn't figure out what was wrong with the truck. The engine codes indicated intermittent b+ received from the dpf/doc temp sensor. I dc'd the ecm harness at the ecm and sensor, and connected the ect3k to the power terminal. calibrated the ect for close signal and within seconds, found the problem with the wiring harness. A broken wire at the connector. Saving me countless hours of harness probing with bed of nails or similar. I wish I would have purchased this way sooner. hope this helps you techs decide.

Really Intelligent tool! Recommend it to all professionals.
Great product! Used before another chip one - was garbage, but not this one. Powerprobe - the best!
