Excellent! Works well for 1/2" to 1" PVC - see photos. Buy this!
This (and its big brother, model 227S) are EXCELLENT chamfering and reaming tools for PVC! So much better than a similar knock-off from a big box store, which didn't have the sharp cutters this one does. A couple of things to know though - see the attached photos. From the product title a person might think it would work on 1-1/4" schedule 40 PVC. NOPE! Works great on 1" sch. 40 and 1" SDR 21, but that is the max. For bigger PVC use the model 227S. As for why, 1" sch. 40 PVC is 1" ID (internal diameter). The OD (outer) is is 1-5/16", a tad bigger than the 1-1/4" product title but fits and works just fine. 1" SDR 21 thin wall is 1-1/16" internal but the same 1-5/16 OD, so works the same with the reamer. 1-1/4" schedule 40 PVC, while being 1-1/4 ID, is a whopping 1-5/8 OD (outside diameter), well past the 1-1/4" spec for this chamfer/reamer. But perfectly in-range for the model 227S. The other thing to be aware of is the AMOUNT of chamfer on the outside edge and deburring on the inside edge. See the photo comparing before and after. All this tool does, and is supposed to do, is take the sharp edge off, meaning like 1-2 mm or so. You can feel it with your fingers but might need glasses to see (ha if my old age). That chmafer on the outside edge prevents the square, sharp, outside edge from acting like a plow on the glue when you push the pipe into a fitting. On the inside the reaming gives you full flow without any edges sticking up to make water turbulence. Don't expect the pipe to wind up looking like a pine cone after using this tool! The removal of the PVC is subtle. The chamfer might also feel a little rough, but doesn't matter a bit since the edge goes in the joint first - the side of the pipe is what gets glued in the fitting. Canned air for use in blowing off PC keyboards works great for blowing the PVC fragments out of the cutter. This cutter works so well that I bought two, in case I misplace one (which happens with a lot of tools) while in battle cutting and gluing sprinkler pipes! And of course I bought a bigger model 227S since I am using 1-1/4" PVC too.

Absolutely wonderful and works extremely well.
I know what you're thinking... How can this tiny little reaming tool be worth approx. $40.00. Before I began using these, I thought the same but several plumbers and electrician friends let me try theirs and I was instantly sold! It's really not until you look closely inside this reamer that you see an extremely high-tech, very highly detail reaming system, something looking almost sci-fi. The many sharp ribs cut and smooth with very little effort and because they fill the tube, you don't need to spin the reamer completely around the pipe. It really does bevel an chamfer with little effort. If you watch YouTube plumbing videos as most guys do, you'll see this Ridgid tool in most of them. Great tool, absolutely worth the cost. Hope to have this for many years.

Best tool on the market
This is by far the best deburring tool on the market and superior to the pen-style swivel cutters. For the most efficient use of time, you can use a cheap pen tool to more quickly remove excess materials, then finish with the Ridgid. Try as I might, I am unable to get to a finish this clean with out it. It's all metal and superior craftsmanship, and it's also cool how it looks like a futuristic jet engine. It's pricey for a reason.

Best tool for the job
Works better than any other one I have used in the past. It’s got a solid feel and sharp cutters.

Pricey, but a great tool!
This is so easy to use and saves a lot of time. Also works on PVC. (Why wouldn't it?) I use an air gun to clean it.

High quality but made in China
This is a very effective reamer as it has more “blades” than most. Only complaint is that it is made in China .
