Excellent Perfromance
I was very frustrated re-crimping connectors time after time because my crimp tool was garbage. Do your self a favor and purchase Platinum Tool connectors and this Platinum Tool Crimper. Terminations will be 100% EVERY TIME.

Almost perfect. Almost.
It's so strange - just like the EX Crimp model from Platinum Tools that came before this, this updated version suffers from the same symptom of not being able to sever the conductors from pins 1 and 8. It severs all the rest clean and breaks 1 and 8 about 80% of the way requiring you to do minimal wiggling and twisting to completely remove them, but it definitely doesn't sever them all in 1 squeeze. This is the case 9 out of 10 times or greater. Not a big deal - still way easier than non "EZ" style tools and a big help, but considering this symptom was widely documented on the previous model I would have assumed they would have fixed it before launching the next model. Weird. Anyway, I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Different
So I purchased the EZ-RJ45 (blue die on right). The ones on the left are EZ-EX-RJ45 (co workers) well I purchased ezrj45 thinking that they are for use with the ezrxrj45 connectors but they’re not cutting the wire and a little plastic piece off of the connectors, but according to the description they’re supposed too, but my coworkers ex-EX-rj45 works perfectly.

When getting your products into as many hands as possible is not the goal.
I read the description and thought the crimper would work on the ez connectors that I ordered but of course it does not. When I contacted Platinum Tools the rep never offered to help solve my problem. Very disappointing and frustrating. I just switched connectors and crimp tool.

Great tool...even nicer when using the Platinum Tools connectors that allow the wires to stick out the end.

I recommend this units so much except I hate how they named it.
I am a security installer and this crimp tool saved my job lots of time. Only my complain is there are 2 identical units on these crimp tools but very confusing how this manufacture put a names on them. They should just named "Large" and "Standard" because that is only a reason on 2 separate models instead of naming fancy and confusing names. It took more time to order a right crimp tool than doing crimping my CAT6 to the EZ RJ45 socket.
