Good for the purpose it is made for. Happy with the performance
Kept on the machine 24*7 for a week and it worked pretty good. No heat up .Secondly it does the computing for which the intel processor made forWin 11 pro is icing on the cake

easy to install, it gets only slightly warm, ideal for streaming
It comes ready installed with windows 11. It streams all programs compatible with Windows 11 eg Netflix, Prime etc. Check first compatibility with Windows 11 if you plan to use none mainline streams. There seems no issue with alleged overheating it only gets mildly warm. Very easy to set up. Thoroughly recommend this mini pc.Just to reinforce the above two months or so after buying the first I purchased a second Mele mini computer, same model as the first. It is ideal for my streaming needs, silent and inconspicuous

Problems running Ubuntu, but okay on Rocky Linux
I had problems with the machine randomly freezing up (had to hard reset) when Ubuntu was installed on it (tried different LTS versions). As I planning on using it as a Plex server this made it unusable for the task.So I installed Rocky Linux 9 on it instead. So far it has been running stable but zero freezes. Not sure why it didn't work with Ubuntu vs Rocky.

Amazing little SBC
10th Gen quad core with 8gb, wifi, nvme port, plenty of IO, Gbit Ethernet... It's a full blown actually usable PC. I was skeptical about the thermals given the plastic heat sink.. yes that's apparently a thing. And it actually works! no throttling. Remember to remove the stickers from the top ; ) .Last thing that's under-sold: It has a wide range DC input that starts as low as 12v, which most SBC's don't (19V). Which makes it easy power from a car, a PC's power supply etc. It's been running 24/7 for many weeks.

A solidly built fanless minipc for people with specific needs.
I'm going to start off something everyone should know:If you are looking for a computer for day-to-day use, at home or at work, then you are looking at the wrong class of device. While it is technically capable of these sorts of things, it makes many trade-offs to fill a specific niche and would not be a good experience. If you do not have the specific needs this is designed for, then you would get a much better experience and better price/performance with something else - look for a i3 or i5.With that out of the way:The model I purchased is the N5105/8GB+256GB.This device is actually fanless. I shouldn't need to confirm that, but Amazon is the land of Caveat Emptor.MeLE is an original manufacturer with a product history, and neither rebadges hardware nor has their hardware rebadged. The build quality is solid, with nice fit and finish. Upon disassembly I was greeted with a design that was logical, thoughtful, and carefully planned. There are no bodge wires, commodity daughterboards, or etc...The internals are screw-mounted, with no hot glue. The bottom panel was initially reluctant to separate, but a quick check showed that this was due to thermal interface material between the CPU and the heat sink, which is attached to the bottom panel.Obvious thought was put into the placement of both the CPU and the heatsink, with clear intent to optimize heat transfer to the environment via conduction through the bottom panel to either the surface it's resting on, or to the mounting bracket if it's mounted to a device. This shows that they considered the possibility of convection not being an option, and took steps to manage heat in either case. That said, they didn't neglect the top surface - there's thermal material between the back side of the board and the rest of the body, ensuring that the entire body is participating in heat dissipation. The performance is comparable to other N5105 solutions, albeit slightly slower than actively cooled solutions due the tighter thermal envelope. The BIOS/UEFI firmware interface is completely unrestricted. All options, including ones that don't apply or are only intended to be exposed for manufacturing and testing, are available. There's sufficient I/O for most applications. This device is capable of passing through USB-C power to attached devices while maintaining a data connection. This is capable of driving a large USB-C monitor with a single cable.Video playback performance is good. It's not quite capable of 4k60 playback, but is capable of 1440p at 60fpsOn the subject of firmware, we now come to the drawbacks:MeLE does not appear to issue firmware updates. This may be a concern for some people and applications. The memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded. This is merely something to be aware of; it is completely expected given the form factor and price point when choosing a model. The storage is soldered-on eMMC, and cannot be replaced. This is mitigated by the M.2 slot.Windows 11 is a poor choice for shipping with this hardware:1: The CPU demands of Windows 11 are higher than what a Celeron processor is able to comfortably support. Expect the system to spend much of its time at 100% CPU utilization even when idle.2: The primary storage is a soldered eMMC module, which is not well suited for the intensity of Windows 11's background logging, telemetry, and behavior. Aside from performance-related concerns, this is more wear on the module than it should be subjected to.3: While 8gb is fine for Windows 11, 4gb only meets the requirements for Windows 11 to run with no applications. Even a web browser would result in memory being paged out to the drive, further degrading performance and increasing drive wear.4: The Windows update process is very I/O intensive, which compounds the performance bottleneck from eMMC.While I can understand that some people may get use out of Windows 11 being included, it would be better if it could be purchased with no OS.The process of getting this device to boot from NVMe is slightly inconvenient.Overall:I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this MiniPC, and can recommend this model for people who have a use case for a low-power fanless x64.What I would like in future models:While eMMC is suitable for many applications, I would have preferred a unit with two M.2 slots and the option to purchase a unit without storage.Barring that, an access hatch for access to the M.2 slot without removing the entire cover would be appreciated.I look forward to a model based on the N-series chips, such as the N100 or N300.

Don’t wast your money
Starting to think this was a waste of money. Get better access with my tablet. Cannot seem to multitask, takes for ever just to download windows updates and just that process and some minor SVC for network and blue tooth take up 100% of CPU capacity.. 3 hours now waiting for downloads to finish, plus the stupid windows apps automatically tries to download and update every app. Took me 30 minutes just to have enough CPU to kill the process.
