Quality pellet smoker tube with great results
Used Carpathen Pellet Smoker Tube for first time this weekend. Smoked ribs and a turkey breast on propane smoker and couldn’t be any happier. Using the tube with pellets is so much easier than soaking chips or chunks. With tube it’s light it and forget it as I wasn’t having to opening up smoker to check if I needed to add more wood. I also like the fact that the smoke is consistent with no flare ups or times where no smoke. Also, noticed that using pellets provide a much “cleaner” smoke taste, no bitterness that sometimes happens. Time wise I got over five hours of smoke from the tube. I feel this is an excellent product, that works great and at less cost than the competitors. Looking forward to continued usage.

Great purchase!
Great overall experience! The product came very well packaged and included a pouch and a few e-books (emailed). The Smoke Tube itself was manufactured from 22 gage stainless steel and resistance welded together. Very sturdy construction which I expect will last for years. First use was to cold smoke some cheese, which turned out well. The pellet smoker performed as described and without incident. I expect it to work well with any smoking process. A lot cheaper than buying a pellet smoker grill. Very happy with the product. The customer service was excellent! Would not hesitate to purchase additional Carpathen products in the future.

Interesting addition for gas grill
Have used gas grills primarily for 20 yrs now, and always struggled with producing smoke. I found this by accident, and thought what the heck. I have used MULTIPLE smoke boxes to fit below the grates, alum foil contraptions, you name it, and all have been mostly worthless. For smoking, the biggest issue is temp, and then smoke volume right behind it. The two are inseparable. So, most of my meats are cooked between 225-250, primarily because that's the very lowest my grill will get to. I have used this several times now, and it produces a LOT of smoke, primarily a function of the pellets vs wood chips and chunks which are not really feasible outside of a stick grill or charcoal. Anyway, after several uses, I would note the following: - this will raise your grill temp approx. 20-25 degrees, thus meat will be cooking higher than desired temp - in multiple uses, a very packed tube was good for 3.5 hours, then gone; I did one smoke for 6 hours, so I took pliers and removed the tube, washed it out, refilled and refired it up. Took 15 min and good to go again - if you are going to do long smokes, save the time and trouble and buy two of these, replace the first when its empty vs doing what I did - In addition to meat, I smoked some poblanos; everything came out very nicely done, so I would definitely use again on vegies, as well as wings, brats and similar foods. - BTW, because you fire it off with a torch, I was concerned about quality, and handling it once the pellets are lit. Not an issue in my experience, easy to start, and wearing a leather glove, easy to handle when placing after starting or removing to refill if thats the option you go with. Pliers also work well but with a hose nearby, you can refill in a jiffy Overall I would recommend for gas grill users that want to produce lots of smoke with minimal effort

MY FIRST AND FOREVER SMOKER
I received my Carpathen Smoke Tube in time to smoke some Mozzarella cheese for a pizza recipe that demands it. To purchase already smoked mozzarella cheese is not an easy task in the e-market nor at stores. At first, I was in doubt the tube will manage the job but man, tell me about it. I was completely wrong in my appreciation. This little thing is incredibly amazing. I followed the instructions to light it up and in 10 minutes I had a non stop smoke column. I placed the tube inside my grill and after 2 hours guess what, I had two mozzarella cheese blocks nicely smoked. I read that home smoked cheese must be wrapped and store in the fridge for al least a week to soften the smoky flavor but when these were going to be used melted in a wood fire pizza oven I considered that wait unnecessary. End of story, the pizza was a full success thanks to the amazing work done by this little tube. It is made of high quality stainless steel that will last for years to come. I did not filled it up complete, just to 3/4 of his capacity. With that amount of Apple wood pellets it smoked for more than three hours. When after two hours I removed the cheese from the grill, the smoker kept going for 1.5 more hours. FANTASTIC device. I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS SMOKER. don't spend your hard earning money in anything else but this. The price is so good that somebody could think the thing is a crap. NO, IT IS NOT A CRAP!, it's a high quality smoker. I'm a fan of reading reviews but not a fan of writing reviews. In this case I am making an exception. I could keep writing more and more considering how amazed I was with this thing but I may sound boring and repetitive. If you want to smoke from a tiny little piece of cheese till a full cow, go for it, don't think it twice. Just warn your wife, kids and anybody else who leaves in your house that you yourself, your hair, your hands and arms, your clothes, THE WHOLE OF YOU! will get smoked same as whatever stuff you dropped inside the grill. In my case, my wife loves to eat smoky flavor food so, that night, when I finished smoking the cheese and baked and ate the wonderful pizzas, after having a long late shower, l went to sleep at a coach downstairs to avoid been bitten by my wife. (I'm joking). Next day in the morning, I was still smelling smoked.

Works great! Don’t hesitate to buy this one.
Smoker tubes seem fairly similar just looking at them. I can only speak to the qualities of this Z Smoker tube since this is the one I bought. It works great and puts out a ton of smoke, which lasted for between 3-4 hours when fully loaded. I like the shape, rectangular, which obviously does not roll like round or hexagonal shaped tubes could. Cleaning was easy and quality of materials seem good. So I expect this to last for a long time. I did a 3-4 hour cold smoke on the beef ribs pictured and they then went into the sous vide for about 26 hours at 160F. When I pulled them out of the grill, the smell of the meat was incredible. Also, I put a pic in of the back of the grill to show that it was filling the grill box with smoke the entire time. Also, the Carpathen folks included recipes and other cooking materials with the purchase, which was a nice bonus. I definitely feel I got my money’s worth. Don’t hesitate to buy from these guys.

Ease of use
Slight hiccup with Amazon, shipping, and lost unit. Had to cancel order thru Amazon. Before I could reorder or purchase another unit, Carpathen sent me a replacement unit. I finally got to use it this weekend and I am not one bit disappointed with the Z-Smoker. I was looking for a cold smoker to enhance my Memphis Ultimate smoker and grill cold smoking and smoking capabilities, use of pellets and low heat for long smoking. The square tube over the round tube I thought offered better airflow and smoke distribution and it does. The unit is durable and fits nicely on a shelf in the smoke chamber. Following the instruction is easy and accurate. Lighting the unit using a propane torch was easy using a triggered auto lite torch. Burn in of about 5 minutes, extinguishing the flame, and it smoked for of 5 hours. My Memphis chip tray never got hot enough the lite the chips as I was expecting. The Z-Smoker put out more than enough smoke, that I ran smoke to both the propane and charcoal grills for smoking or cold smoking. Overall, the Z-Smoker put out more smoke and longer than the Memphis. The Z-Smoker from Carpathen is a great tool for your smoking tool set and I recommend it for everyone smoking needs.

* Update * - Great product
I have used this 4 or 5 times now.. it works great, but I don’t see it lasting more than a season. The metal is already warping from the heat of getting the fire going. Note: I do have the 12”, so Sometimes I am lighting it halfway down. It would probably wouldn’t be as bad if I had the 6”model * Update * The solution to my problem was to add tin foil to the tube. This virtually made it a 6” tube for shorter smokes, but still have the availability to use the full 12” for longer brisket smokes. With this change I am no longer having to light the pellets in the middle of the tube. I have used this for both my WEBER Kettle grill to add some flavor to grilled meats and it is a must have for my Green Mountain Pellet Smoker. Used for meats, cheese, and nuts! Ended up buying a few more for family members.

Fantastic addition to my pellet smoker!
For years I used a horizontal charcoal smoker. Amazing flavor, but I literally couldn't leave it for more than 20 minutes for the entire 6-10 hours I'd smoke things. I decided to get a dedicated pellet smoker, which maintains the perfect temperature indefinitely . . . but tastes WAY less smoky than the old smoker. Enter the solution: The Carpathen Smoke Tube!!! I tend to do pros/cons to make it simple, so here you go: Pros: Inexpensive, but not cheap Very easy to use Adds a tremendous amount of extra smoke (I'm guessing it would even work in a normal grill) Easy to clean and store (even comes with a sleeve to put it in . . . which I never use since I leave it in the smoker) Friendly company Easy to transport (like if you are going to stay at a cabin with a grill) Cons: There's really one, and it isn't the fault of Carpathen. It still doesn't smoke as strongly as the old smoker. Is the temperature and ease worth the trade-off? 100%. But the fact is that the pellets just don't put out the same strength of smoke as whole chunks of dried wood. I like the variety and ease of the Smoke Tube, and I would highly recommend it to anyone with a pellet smoker or grill (or even other types, like electric or gas). I'm tempted to get a second one to see if doubling the smoke helps. I can't say enough good things about the Smoke Tube, and I've already gotten a few of my IRL friends to buy one.
