Handsome and useful cutting board.
Handsome and useful cutting board. Make sure to cut lengthwise with the grain of the wood since the bamboo scars when cut against the grain. Oil frequently with food grade mineral oil to bring out the tone of the wood.

It's a cutting board.
A lot of people are complaining about the tiny splinters but if you read the pamphlet that comes with it, it says it's to be expected. Just scrub a little with a rough pad and some hot water and it's gone after a few uses. No harm in a little wood fiber in your diet. If you use parmesan cheese, that's also got wood in it. "Cellulose". My only complaint is uneven finishing. Some spots are obvious where either glue or finishing oil left a mark. Functionally it's fine, but for the price of a high quality board, it's missing qc.

Lightweight but sturdy
Beautiful wood. Had a woody "fragrance" at first, and when I washed and dried it with a clean towel, some "orange-ish" color came off onto the towel. I'm hoping this is all normal for teak. I've been using it for over a month and love it. It is a slightly giving wood, so it's easier on my knives than my bamboo boards. My husband has a heavy hand when he draws a knife through his fruits on it, and has left many long scratches already. But I don't care! Pretty much any surface will do that, and this one is a cinch to lift and clean or transfer food to the cooktop or plates. It's thick enough not to warp like my bamboo boards, but thin enough to maneuver with ease.

Serious quality control issue
Too thin and poorly made. The first one I received had a split between two of the pieces and it extended almost halfway down the board. I returned it for an exchange and the second, while structurally sound, was very rough on both sides, as if they forgot to sand it. I even compared it to the first one which I had not dropped off yet to make sure. I also had to return another larger TeakHaus board I purchased elsewhere because it was also damaged. Maybe I just had bad luck but 0 for 3 makes me believe there are widespread quality control issues and I will never purchase any Teakhaus product again. There are too many other better options.

Durable
I liked using my cutting board. It is easy to clean, made of solid material and is durable. I liked the colour and finish. Makes a good gift.

Can a cutting board be beautiful?
The most beautiful cutting board you will find. Wish it was just a little thicker but the length and width were exactly what I wanted. This sits on my counter continuously and it just looks great. Teak is slightly softer than maple but the knife marks give it character. Really worth the price if it’s in your budget.

Nice, simple cutting board
It's what it says on the tin - a nice wooden cutting board. Mine had a number of splinters and a small divot missing on one edge, but I imagine that's to be expected from wood.
