Not Exciting But Effective
Look, I'm not gonna sound off any horns, but if you need a dependable dye that does the job right with less quantity used then get these. Caution: wear disposable gloves or your fingernails will remind you for weeks and be sure to squeeze out every last drop of the wand head afterward because you'd be surprised how much damage it can do otherwise if left to it's own. Just for ease, I keep black and brown with one color in the box for the bottle stand use later (very cool feature that saves grief) and the other I leave out with both used wands in a baggie held by a rubber band around the second bottle. Both go in another freezer weight baggie along with a pair of disposable gloves in their own baggie. All keep neat and in one place (my shoe shine box) until I'm ready to repair damage or change an original color. Bottles are good for two or three pairs of boots/shoes at least. Be sure to rub the finished dye job with a soft cloth to remove any residual and to put a finish on the surface.BTW, you can buy cheaper dyes, but these color in one pass and hold true without stinking during application or after they dry..

Great Coverage
I have a pair of Suede Leather boots my husband bought me for Christmas 8 years ago. I love these boots, however, over time they started showing wear. I tried to cover the spots but the brown I used turned to a burgundyish color. I took them to a local shoe and leather shop to see what it would cost to dye them, and it was going to cost more than the boots probably did. So, I decided to try myself and figured if nothing else I wasn't wearing them in the shape they were in so if I ruined them no big deal. They were already brown so I decided to go a darker brown to ensure coverage. I got the coffee color. I laid out some aluminum foil on my working area, put on some disposable rubber gloves and gathered a few paper towels. The box has a section that you sit the bottle in so it does not tip over. Great idea! I dipped the little sponge that comes with it in the bottle and tested on one of the really bad spots. To my surprise it covered it right away! It was amazing. I kept going. I was like a kid in a candy store watching this dye transform boots I loved and was considering throwing away come back into a new life!I'm very pleased with how they came out. I bought two bottles and only needed one for the pair of boots. Did not use all of that one bottle either. Will be returning unopened second bottle. I did read where some people said when they did boots and then wore them the top of the boots stained their pants. So, I'm going to let mine dry for a week or more then I'm going to wear them around the house with an old pair of sweats to see if that happens. A little dripped on the box and I tested it after it dried by wiping a clean white paper towel and nothing came off on the towel, so I'll report back if there is an issue. Please see my before and after pictures.

Very black
Easy to use and very black….does the job and dries pretty quickly. I even used some to dye some small pieces of wood veneer for a project…worked great.

Before, During, After 👍👍
Had purchased a used pair of Hikers that had been abused rather than used-the Soles looked new, while the Leather Foot of the Boots had numerous scuffs/scratches some fairly deep. We started off by sanding them down, taping around the Soles so as not to actually dye the threads where the Soles are sewn to the Boots so they would look like they actually were made that way & then dying them. I had read over the Reviews & it was stated that 1 Bottle of the Dye is sufficient to do multiple pieces. In My case it didn't happen that way, -No "shade" on the Manufacturer for that, as I knowingly purchased the type for smooth leather, but with the sanding We had done on the Boots it soaked it up (which is a good thing) & while I was able to get on 2 coats from the 1st Bottle, there were several thin spots due to the way the Dye actually penetrated that particular area-again no fault of the Seller or Product it was to be expected. I should have purchased 2 Bottles to begin with as there is only 3 ounces per Bottle, had to reorder the 2nd one-that did the trick as You can see. I Dyed them twice, put on 2 heavy coats of Neatsfoot Oil, & Then 2 coats of Snowseal over a 4-5 Day period letting each application dry/seep in in the Sunshine as We went. Made a tremendous difference as You can see in the Photos. It's all in the preparation. One note, I had purchased the Dye in Dark Brown, & it is DARK-looks Black in photos & in Person (& it looked that way before the Neatsfoot Oil & Snowseal), it may lighten some in Time, but if it doesn't I'm OK with it. Got Me a "new" Pair Of Boots ! 😉 Best, PawPaw C

Surprisingly good
I discovered that my black shoes were actually white. No shoe polish would cover it so I looked to see if there was such a thing as shoe paint. Angelus showed up as one of the best choices. I had to get a paint stripper first, per the instructions and that’s when I found out for sure my shoes were actually white. I used that and then put the black die on. Cautions in that it is very thin liquid and fills up the little swab that comes with the bottle. So I had too much the first time and it ran everywhere. After that I made sure to get it less wet, but that first swab covered most of the shoe. YouTube video instructed to do about 4 coats so I just did one shoe, then the other, back and forth until done. The black is very shiny and they looked fantastic. The first coat covered all the white. I then applied a shiny top coat and people have asked if my shoes are actually patent. They aren’t, but that do have a very high shine. Look great. Don’t know how long it will last but I’ve worn them for a couple days (after letting them dry for 24 hours between die and top coat and again after top coat. They look great and the only scuff rubbed right off and shined again.
