It works!
I’m surprised that this doesn’t have all 5 star reviews. This product is super expensive, but in my experience, you get what you pay for. I have tried 4-5 kp creams and this is by far the best! It literally erased all of the bumps on my arms within just a few days. Totally worth the money in my opinion.

Great exfoliating cream.
I have dry, flakey skin on my legs, specifically my shins. This cream eliminates the flakes completely when used consistently.

Cure for sandpaper arms (keratosis pilaris)?
I'm excited to try the Obagi KeraPhine Body Smoothing Lotion especially as we are fans of Obagi products and have used their facial cleansers and moisturizers in the past. However, it is VERY pricey, so I have purchased their products sparingly. As a teen, I suffered from keratosis pilaris. It is a very common condition which involves bumpy skin often along the back of both upper arms. My mom suffered from it too. And my tween has it. It's something that caused a great deal of self-consciousness and embarrassment and I stayed away from sleeveless shirts as a result. My high school prom photo had me wearing a very ugly bolero to cover up my arms since my spaghetti strap gown alone did not. But keratosis pilaris is something that you grow out of around the age of 30 and I thankfully no longer have this issue. The Obagi KeraPhine body lotion is supposed to address this very issue, and the glycolic acid and ammonium lactate ingredients in it are specifically the components recommended by dermatologist to combat the sandpapery skin condition. Some dermatologists also recommend using urea, salicylic acid, vitamin D, retinoids, or steroid creams. I like that the Obagi product doesn't contain steroids or retinoids as I (and many others) have had sensitivity and adverse reactions to these harsh additives and certainly wouldn't want to use it over a large swath of my body like both upper arms or on my daughter in large amounts for what essentially is a purely cosmetic issue. The Obagi lotion doesn't have much of a noticeable scent and goes on smoothly and absorbs quickly like most lotions, without the need for much rubbing in. However, a minute later, I did notice a slight tackiness or stickiness on the surface of my hand from the lotion. But I ignored it and within 10 minutes I've noticed that even that tackiness eventually absorbed and mostly disappeared. I've taken photos of the bumpy skin on the back of my daughter's arm.

Works!
I had given up trying to get rid of the bumps on my arms but then saw a review for this and thought why not... and almost overnight the bumps almost completely went away! As soon as I stopped using it though, they came back so I’ll need to remind myself to use it a few times a week at least :)

Wonderful for KP
This product has been a lifesaver for the KP on my arms! It has made a world of difference. The product is sticky and doesn’t smell great, but the results are 100% worth putting up with those “cons.”

Not a fan. At all. But excels on over 60 skin.
8/3-updateAfter my last update, had some home damage & had to stay with my mom for a couple weeks.I wondered if this was made for really mature skin so I took what was left with me for her to try.She loved it. She's in her late 60's & used on hands & forearms. Didn't notice a smell & stickiness didn't bother her.As well, immediate difference in her drier, flaky skin. I guess the Obagi excels on thinner skin.Bumping up to 3 stars & That's my final answer.7/24- updateI'm done.Downgrading to 2 stars.I've used this for almost 4 weeks. My hands are still sticky after I apply & it's kinda freaking me out. What makes lotion sticky??As well, even with night application,Me & my sheets smell like a farm animal.Yes, my over 40, skin is soft but not that soft and, no magic transformation. If I wasn't given this product to test for the masses, it would've been returned on day one. Oh, the smell.. sheeshHowever, since this is supposed to be an honest review, I will honestly recommend something else. See pic.Nighttime use- SSC Vitamin C body treatment. It's a thick cream that absorbs for smoother, rejuvenated skin.Daytime use- SSC Glycolic body moisturizer. It's a thin lotion, almost serum like, that gives your skin a face lift & smoothes without, being so dense you sweat it off in summer, or personal summer.Last, my summer staple, Vichy Body BalmYou apply to wet skin after shower then dry when you towel off. A little goes a long way.No skin residue in case you run hot & fear sweating it off.It firms, plumps skin & evens out tone. This is a must for me when I'm wearing a sleeveless dress. All of the above are priced below the Obagi, in the luxury beauty category. As well, lightly scented & doesn't make my hands feel like I was the unfortunate victim of an aroused sheep.Seriously...why is the obagi sooooo sticky???Hope this helps & Good Luck.Quick update-I've been using this as my night body cream for my due diligence to see long term effects. This way the smell doesn't interfere with my day scent but, I must lightly body spray bc still not on board with this smell. What I have noticed is, this really smooths & absorbs into my hormonally changing skin.Seems to absorbing equally into legs and arms.I know that is the Glycolic.Glycolic in a lotion, smoothes bumpy skin. There is no "burn"/ tingle like a face peel.So for mature skin, I think this is good purchase without the dermatologist price tag.It is a thick cream so probably not for those with year round summer.I'll do next update at end of 4 weeks.Original review ~I'm between 3 & 4 stars on this cream.I went down to 3 based on price. This is a high ticket item & feel like the things I didn't like should have been addressed.First, did leave skin on my heavily used hands incredibly soft but...That was after I washed off this weird sticky residue on my palms and fingers. My fingers were tacky enough to stick together. The sticky was only on the inside of my hands after I applied to legs and arms.My arms and legs had no residue, just soft.Maybe the tackiness was the Ammonium Lactate, which is the exfoliant, in this moisturizerbc I use glycolic lotions & haven't had this effect.Im definitely thinking that was the cause for the smell...On to the smell. It's not scented but it's one of those "non smell" smells. Very distinct like there is animal product in it..?Just like lanolin is from sheep but, if you've ever gotten lanolin directly from a sheep's hind quarters, you know why labs scent it for the masses. Also, no clue where it's made.Looked directly at site. No infoBox just says distributor from Jersey.I like to know for fair trade practices & what I'm putting on my skin. All in all I tried it on some tougher to absorb skin like feet, shins & immediate noticeable softness.Like deep into your skin softness. Almost silky. This is from their site so,if you're looking for upper leg results, this may not be for you."*Study results for a 4-week evaluation of the effectiveness of KèraPhine Body Smoothing Lotion; N=81.†No statistically significant reduction in dryness was seen on the thighs."I love my SSC Glycolic body cream.Wouldn't be without it.Really bummed bc I'm such a fan of their elastiderm eye cream so,although this does deliver..It's not something for me primarily bc of the smell. As well, no origin of manufacturing. If seller updates origin on page, would bump to 4 stars.Feel free to ask any questions in comments.Hope this helps

It really worked for me!
I have forever had tiny little bumps above my knees that never seemed to go away, even using body scrubs, loofahs, scrubbies and the like. I pretty much just figured I'd have them forever. When I saw this product from Obagi, I thought I'd give it a try, and it actually made my legs smooth. I was skeptical that it would work, only because I'm always skeptical about claims made about most cosmetic/beauty products. But I am very happy with the results I got from this product. No more little bumps! The product has a warning about increased sun sensitivity when using the product. Fortunately, I did not have to worry about that during the time I was using it, but sun sensitivity is always something to think about. If you think you want to use this right before going to the beach, you might do well to think again.
