Probably the best TWS earbuds i've ever tried in comfort and sound
Unboxing ----------- The box is an all cardboard affair - nice to see companies moving away from plastic trash since most of the time any case/box is trash. Comes with a usb A > C cable (10cm) 3x Sets of ear tips (XS/S/L) with mediums pre-fitted as normal 3x Sets of ear fins / wings (Flush/Small/Large) Loads of paperwork and a quick start guide The buds come packages inside the lovely material covered charging case, which supports USB-C and Qi wireless charging. The case has a satisfying solid feel to it and the lid holds closed via a reasonably strong magnet Initial Pairing, fitting and use ---------------------------------- Taking the buds from their case they immediately go into pairing mode as is fairly typical and showed up straight away on my S23 and paired as expected. I opened up the Sennheiser app which i'd downloaded and it offered a firmware update, the update seemed to lift the version quite a lot so worth doing. The update needs the buds removed from the case so would recommend making sure they've got 50%+ battery and even though the app said 20 minutes to do, i'd say all told it was closer to 10m. The app unlocks a variety of options: EQ (both old fashion sliders of low/mid/high) and a personalised EQ option in which you select the sound balance you like of a series of music it plays. ANC modes in which you have just anti-wind, full on or off. The ANC here seems very solid and much better than previous products i've used Customise buttons - pick how you want touches / controls to be interpreted Transparancy Mode - letting you hear what's going on either with or without music Sound Zones - Setting EQ/ANC and other settings based on a geo-fenced location. So if you regularly commute or whatever you can set a different bunch of settings for the train vs office vs home etc Fit Test - Plays a bunch of sounds to check how well you've got the earbuds sealed/seated in order to maximise the music. The app / controls all seem responsive and work well. No issues here Impressions on sound / fit / feel ------------------------------------- I used the XS tips + Large wings and the buds sit securely in my ears (a major problem i have with TWS is getting them to feel like they won't fall out every 2 minutes) The sound stage feels wider than most IEM's i've used. Doesn't feel like it's just inside your head but a little wider. No open-back headphones wide but good for In-ears. The sound itself is rich leaning towards warm but only slightly. The default sound without EQ is perfectly fine. The bass is full and pleasant without making anything muddy. The drivers handle the full range well. There's bass-boost if you need more bass but i found that made the sound feel a little duller. It worked better when using EQ sliders. The treble is defined and present without sibiliance The fit in my ears is tremendously comfortable. They're snug without putting any pressure on the antihelix which a lot do and causes fatigue on that part. The wings sit snugly in the cymba concha but again are very soft silicone so provide a degree of stability without pressure. I can definitely shake my head vigourously without the buds working loose and they're sitting here without feeling like i need to adjust them every 2 minutes. I reckon i could easily sit all day with these on Overall ====== Total winner for me. Very happy customer. Will be keeping these as a daily driver for a long long time.

Good Sound but Glitch Galore - On my 4th Replacement Pair
I've been a Sennheiser fan for over 15 years now and have consistently been impressed by the sound quality of their headphones. I decided to update from the Momentum 2s and get the newer 3s but have so far been disappointed by some of the features and glitches experienced. First things first, I am now on my fourth pair of Momentum 3s since around May 2022 (it's August now). Amazon have been amazing with their product support and have replaced each pair but I'm now returning my current (4th!!) pair for the final time and will not be reordering these earbuds again. I've noticed that after around 6 weeks of fresh out of the box usage, the right ear bud develops an issue where it is suddenly a lot quieter than the left one, which I believe is a major connection flaw. Have tried everything - resetting to factory, updating, refreshing connections, etc… but have concluded it’s definitely a hardware issue. As well as the quiet issue on the right ear bud, it also develops a high pitched circular ringing sound that pings every 2 seconds as if it's trying to connect to something but can't. This is the exact same issue I experienced on previous malfunctioning pairs and it seems to have around the same time (after about 6 weeks) as my previous three pairs. I'm gutted to say yhis because the sound quality and ANC on these headphones really is exceptional. I have seen this hardware issue mentioned in other reviews and given just how new the headphones are to the market, as well as the fact that I have had the exact same issue on 4 pairs now in as many months, I am led to believe that this is a major manufacturor issues that is unheard of for Sennheiser in my experience. Very disappointing! The other downside on these headphones is that unlike the Momentum 2s, there is no transparency mode during phone calls (only during music). If you try to activate the transparency mode during a call, it'll simply cut your call off. It's really disappointing not to have this feature, particularly as they were included on the older Momentum 2s. It's really helpful being able to hear your surroundings on a phone call, especially when walking on busy roads in Central London. Transparency mode shouldn't just be limited to music-listening, as these headphones are so much more than that (the call quality itself is brilliant). Sennheiser justify dropping the transparency mode on calls as being essential to the call quality... What baffles me is that they had them on the Momentum 2s, so why haven't they been able to replicate this on the 3s? The build quality is nice on the 3s but my recommendation would be to opt for the Momentum 2s if you're in the market for a pair of Sennheiser TrueWireless buds. Yes, the 2s are a bit bigger but they’ll be cheaper, will have less connectivity issues, will have better transparency mode features and overall, will sound pretty similar. *****Update***** Got a voucher upon return of the Sennheiser TWM3s and put it towards the Sony XF-1000M4s. Buy the Sonys… way better experience. You have transparency on calls for a start and way better interface on the app. Sound quality is also comparable (and Sony’s are cheaper).

I purchased these earphones in April and on the 1st of October they stopped working. When I contacted Amazon they said there is NO warranty on "Global Items". In other words I paid over $200 for a dud item which is now worthless and cannot be fixed! This is an absolute joke and I would be very cautious in the future when purchasing something from Amazon!

Comfort: These are hands-down the most comfortable earbuds I've ever worn. All other earbuds I've tried became uncomfortable after an hour or so - I can wear the MTW3s for hours and forget they're even there. They sit tight and do not slip at all. Transparency mode is good enough so sometimes I don't even bother taking them out during the day. Battery life supports this, too - with a mix of listening to music, taking calls and using transparency mode they usually last about seven hours without a recharge from the case. Sound Quality: Coming from Sony's WH1000MX3 over-ear headphones I found the sound to be a bit flat at first - Sony headphones tend to give you a warm, very bass-heavy sound. The MTW3s are definitely more neutral sounding. But once my ears adapted I really enjoyed the clarity these buds give you. Instruments are clearly distinguishable, nothing is mushy, no audible noise and audible compression artefacts are extremely rare. In the end a lot of it comes down to taste and personal preference but technically this is top notch. The buds support aptx Adaptive however my phone does not. Instead of falling back to aptx HD (which my phone does support) they fall back to regular aptx which has a lower bandwidth. It's still good enough for Spotify on highest quality but if you listen to HD quality music it might become a bottleneck. I do wish they'd support LDAC instead. Update: I was able to test them on a phone that supports aptX Adaptive and it's a significant increase in quality. So make sure your phone supports it if you want to get the most out of these earbuds. Call Quality: I've had no complaints at all about bad call quality. I really like how you can just use a single earbud for a phone or conference call. Given how comfortable they are it's easy to forget you're even talking on the phone. Noise Cancellation: Noise cancellation is well-balanced for normal environments. It doesn't block out background noise completely but gives you a good amount of awareness of your surroundings without being distracting. Outdoors, the anti-wind mode works surprisingly well. In very loud environments they fail to block out all the noise, so on an airplane I would probably opt for over-ear noise cancelling headphones, or even performance-grade in-ear monitors with a tight physical seal. Misc: Connectivity and range is about what you'd expect - nothing exceptional but no issues at all. The control scheme works really well and is fully configurable in the app. They do not support multipoint connection (hopefully they will with a future upgrade), however you can still control them with the app while they are paired to a different device. Update: Multipoint is now supported with the latest firmware and works well. So why did I pick these over the Sony WF1000XM4 which have a better bluetooth codec and a sound profile that I know and like? a) Comfort - I'm completely sold on how comfortable these buds are. b) Control scheme - Sony's buds let you configure which two things you want to control. If, for example, you want media controls and the ability to toggle noise cancelling, you won't be able to control the volume. If you want volume and media controls, you can't turn on transparency mode. I know that sooner or later this would have bugged the hell out of me. These buds give you everything all at once, and it's completely customizable, too.
