Maria Nila color refresh was just what I needed! I’m transitioning to grey, from medium brown and this product helps with the brassy blonde stage. It’s very easy to apply and you can leave it on for five minutes for subtle color and 10 minutes to get a darker shade. It also leaves your hair, feeling soft and conditioned.

I colored my hair for the first time in over 15 years, usually my go to is a dark auburn, I like reds for my skin tone. I tried a new color, all natural, recommended by a friend and the color was supposed to be dark red. It turned my hair a horrible copper penny color, very light and harsh. I did not want to re-dye and through research found this product, read every single review and ordered. I got the cacao intense as I needed to darken but hopefully keep the red tones. My hair is short, very fine and thin so it didn't take much product. I was nervous about how dark it would be so I diluted with some water, put on damp hair, applied with a toothbrush which worked really well and once saturated combed through. I didn't want to leave on too long, the directions said 3-7 minutes so I did approx. 4, rinsed and conditioned. The results were amazing. I wanted it a bit darker, still had a bit of copper shine so I reapplied but this time did not dilute and I kept is on longer, maybe 5-7 min. I am so amazed by how well this worked. The color came out so good, exactly as I wanted and my hair is super soft. I used Carols Daughter Goddess strength fortifying conditioner after rinsing and my hair looks and feels amazing. I saw many comments in the reviews that said it stained the tub or sink and to be sure to wear gloves but using the toothbrush and comb I didn't need gloves and if any color got in the sink while applying I rinsed right then and no problems at all. The tub is fine as well. I would say do first application on the cautious side, diluted and for a short period and see how it looks as you can reapply if it's not there yet. So happy I found this. In regards to some saying it's expensive, it's really not. The tub will last for many applications especially if you have shorter fine hair like mine. So totally worth it and it saved the day.

This gives a great refresh to my color in between salon visits - it's vibrant and really shows up; has a nice silky feel to it, seems conditioning. You will need gloves, though, for sure, and it will strain your towels, like most red color.

Good but leaves your hands and shower red

I loved the autumn red. It was perfect for the few partial highlights i had and gave the hair a nice red tint. I would use once or twice a month to up keep. Had a nice slow fade to it after multiple washes. After having a great experience with the red, I tried the cocoa intense and was left unfortunately disappointed. It would do a lightly dark tint on my hair but fade after a single wash. Wish it was darker and more intense in color like the red.

My hair colorist told me about this product. I was able to go 8 months without recoloring my RED hair because of this product. My hair was vibrant!

I was really looking forward to using this product Maria Nila Color Refresh (Sand)I’m a black female, my hair has been permed for over 45 years. It took Just 5 minutes to turn my hair to a rust color and stripped out my perm. If your hair has previously been treated with perms, or toners in the past this Color Refresh is may Not be for you. If your water PH is not consistent, beware you May get a wild color. I used Paul Mitchell clarifying shampoo and waited 24 hours and permed my hair to removed the rust color. A deep conditioner was used to restore the texture. This was as just as bad as giving myself a haircut without using a mirror. Don’t make my mistake! If you don’t have virgin hair, just say No.
