Great addon for front-panel connectors!
I got this card because the AMD ASMedia USB controller on my motherboard had lots of issues when connecting an iPad or iPhone. When looking online for information on a better USB controller, I was told to go for Renesas chipset (like this card has) or Fresco Logic, and to avoid VIA and ASMedia. I guess if there are negatives, it's that this card only supports 5 Gbps (PCIe Rev. 2.x, I believe - PCIe Gen3/4/5 would offer way more bandwidth on a 1X connector). However, it's been 100% reliable (so far), and I like that *way* more than using my motherboard's 10-20 Gbps ports that almost never work. This USB card does what it's supposed to do. No issues. If you're having trouble with your case's front USB ports working with various devices like iPhone, give this card a try.

Firmware Flops on B550 PCIE Gen detection
In my opinion you probably shouldn't have to do this if there are no instructions or disclaimers included, however:if you are plugging into (literally Amazon's suggested ASUS B550 board) it will bug out on PCIE and try to run in gen 1 and will never work (BIOS Linux Windows home or embedded, whatever) maybe supply power depending on the model of card.Go into your onboard device controls on your motherboard and specify the slot the card is plugged into to run at either gen 2 or gen 3. It will work just fine at next post. You can find the slot read out typically on the board, in the B550 F WiFi Gaming ROG Strix 2 (I now know why this was 40 dollars off MSRP) the bottom 1x slot is called PCIEX1_3 and is found under UEFI > advanced> onboard devices.

Fixed my front USB!
My motherboard had a broken 19-pin connector for the front panel USB ports, i popped this into a spare pci slot and now my front USB works again, very pleased. Install is very quick if youve worked with replacing/adding pc parts before

Riceware Trash
Riceware trash. Will repeatedly prompt "windows OOBE create elevated object server" UAC prompts on windows 10 devices. I am suspicious the device is injecting malware - and it would be able to do it given that it is connected to your USB lanes.Doesn't even work. Corrupts data downloaded through attached USB lanes. Slows your computer down to a crawl for no reason.Fresh windows install with the card removed resulted in much better performance. No longer got OOBE prompts. As if it wasn't bad enough that it doesn't work, there's a high chance it is trying to steal your data. It has access to your USB lanes, so it would certainly be able to install malware on its own, which is likely what it is doing

Skeptical at first. But not any more
I typically don't trust brands that I have not seen or herd of.However for the price these were offered, I rolled the dice.I purchase 3. One for each of my kids computer which needed usb-c supply. These plugged right in, and fired right up.No problems what so ever. Windows installed drivers before the desktop loaded.I do recommend these to anyone in need of internal motherboard expansion.
