Truly a instant read thermometer. We've bought a few different types of " instant read " devices some were fast and some just didn't make the cut but this Digital Instant Read device is the real deal. The body and fold out probe for this thermometer are solid most of these are flimsy and either break in your hand or while being washed this one holds up for both situations. I first tested this under our hot tap water the temp showing rose as fast as the water temp changed I tested it three times and the reading was the same every time next we tested it with meat on the grill we ran it against a old oven type thermometer and it was dead on and a whole lot faster the steaks we were cooking came off the grill perfectly at two different selections of wellness. The information attached to the thermometer is very helpful and accurate it covers the different temps. for meat wellness for different types of meats. There's alot of useful features built into this thermometer it has a back light, a larger easy to read display, a magnetic back an open end to hang on hooks and more. This device is very accurate , fast and reliable this is the toughest, fastest and most reliable thermometer we've found and there's no reason to believe we'll have to replace it anytime soon.

The battery was nearly dead when I received this thermometer, but I had one on hand, so it was a minor issue. It responds quickly and seems to be accurate. Taking advantage of the magnetic back, I keep it stuck to the side of my fridge, which is quite convenient.Update: I downgraded this from four to two stars, as I found that it depletes the battery after a few days even when turned off. If I don't use it for a week or so, I have to replace the battery before it works again. At the cost of the batteries, I would have been better off purchasing a much more expensive digital thermometer.

I felt like I was changing batteries far too often, so I started keeping track.Battery installed on July 1, 2018 lasted until Aug 8 (dead...wouldn't even turn on).Today is Aug 27, and I was grilling pork... "Lo Bat" message again.I think I've spent more on batteries than this piece of junk

This is a lovely thermometer, and it works well. The plastic surface feels smooth. I love the color and the size of the meter, it is quite easily for me to hold it. Unlike my old meter, the steel probe can be folded to the back, so that I can easily keep it safe. The magnet is not very strong to keep it stay stable on the refrigerator, however I am fine with keeping it in one of my kitchen drawers.

I bought this last year thinking it was going to work for a long time, but didn't even last a full year before the screen went out and now i cant see what temperature things are I tried changing the battery, the light turns on, but the screen shows nothing.

I use this thermometer daily and love it! Even better, it's a great company that stands behind their products. It was taking a few times to get it to turn on so I emailed them. Got a quick response and a no hassles, no questions replacement. How often does that happen anymore??

This little thing works so well!The only complaint is that I wish the light button would stay on for at least 3 seconds, instead of press and hold for light.

I purchased this in July, and finally pulled it out of the box last night. It didn't turn on. I unscrewed the back and reseated the battery. Still doesn't turn on. Unfortunately, since I passed the 30 day window I can't return it.
