This was perfect to have for a birthday party! I was able to make cotton candy ahead of time for the guests and more during the party. It doesn't take long to heat up and was easy to clean. I bought the flavored sugar on amazon separately but it says you can use regular sugar.

These sticks worked perfect for the cotton candy machine. Easily collects the candy floss, easy to wash, and fun colors! Nice alternative for those that don’t like “throw away” products.

I just gave it a try. Takes about 5 minutes to heat up. The instructions say 2-3 minutes while the video on here said 5, so I went with 5. Very little sugar is needed, which was surprising to me. Guess cotton candy's not the worst dessert out there?It's tricky to keep spinning the stick at the right speed. I'd need to practice to get it to be that big satisfying blob of cotton candy instead of a pear-shaped cotton candy, but not bad for a first try. A damp, warm wash cloth very easily cleans up after. Only takes a few minutes from start to finish. Pretty small countertop footprint as well. I can see using it to make a bunch of cotton candy and then sealing it up in containers. Could be fun at a party, too. Definitely don't let little kids use it, and monitor it in use as too much sugar in the heating element can run the risk of a fire.
