BeeCastle 5 Frame Bee Hive Nuc Box Coated with 100% Beeswax Includes Beehive Frames and Waxed Foundations

Great product

I was able to assemble this 5-frame NUC in about 15 minutes with some very basic tools and some non-toxic wood glue. There’s a complete set of instructions for this build and many videos online. I’m in a local beekeepers association and our second class covered using a NUC to catch a swarm. I’m hoping this will do the trick.

When I started beekeeping, I studied on the hive materials for quality and proper wood choice for weather, cedar and cypress are the top choices for outdoors. Beecastle uses cedar and deeply soaks it in wax for even more protection.Now after a couple months, I need to make some splits and here is Beecastle once again with a great product at a fair price.Took me 45 minute to completely assemble 3 nucs and frames. Bees were already checking out the frames before I finished assembling them. I do add fresh wax before use, but can say that the bees seem to really like these boxes and no worries of wood boring insects causing damage.

Really great quality nuc hive! I'm impressed with the build, wax coating, and hardware quality. I know this will last me for many years!

This is a good (not excellent) quality 5-frame swarm-box.I give it a Grade B in terms of quality, decent quality.what could be better? the wax coating is very thin and after only a few says outside it has begun to loose flakes of the protective surface from the wood. Cheap nails that will discolor. I consider the Hoover boxes to be Grade A with a thick beeswax coating of all surfaces, but Hoover doesn't make a 5-frame box.

The quality is great! It's solid and sturdy. There is a thick coating of beeswax to protect the woods, that smells amazing. It fits 5 standard deep frames. The nuc and frames were easy to put together. It only takes a few minutes. Completed, the box is aesthetically pleasing.NOTE: you have to wax the plastic foundation!

I now have 6 of their hives. Only ones I will buy
