My 3 children love using these for school and...
When your 3 children can all agree on anything, it is a good day. They love using these (versus standard wooden pencils) for schoolwork and all home activities. Great product and great budget saver when they go on sale.

Fine pencils--bogus advertising
These are fine mechanical pencils. Except for their color and the size of the lead, they are identical with other BIC mechanical pencils that I have and similar, though a bit lighter than other brands of mechanical pencils that I have. They all work well, and are comfortable to hold. By pressing on the top, you can move the lead down so that you can have plenty of lead, as it begins to wear. If you pull off the eraser, and turn the pencil upside down, you'll find two more pencil leads. It's pretty easy to insert them into the main barrel. Just press down on the top and hold it down. The barrel widens and you can slip in the lead. Once in, it holds in place pretty well. I doubt that the non-lead part of the pencil would hold up for more than the three included leads. What makes these particular BIC pencils worth buying? They contain 65% recycled plastic and their cardboard box is 100% recycled. So if you are ok with paying about 50% more per pencil than regular BIC mechanical pencils, you too can save the world. Could there, perhaps, be a better way? I think that if you're really serious about saving the world, you shouldn't be using throwaway plastic mechanical pencils in the first place--sooner or later they will all end up in landfills. Instead use a 100% recyclable wooden pencil--remember those?--or use one sturdy mechanical pencil and simply buy lead refills. BIC revolutionized the world by introducing cheap, throwaway ballpoints. Now it wants you to think you're revolutionized the world by using a throwaway pencil.Update: these work fine for me, but my 12 and 14 year old grandchildren were much harder on them and bits and pieces fell off quickly. For kids you need something more sturdy.

It's a mechanical pencil!
My teens are bougie and won't write with normal pencils. They love these, nice weight, the lead doesn't break easily.

I love items that use recycled products
We all need pencils and pens right? So why not buy ones that have made from recycled water bottles. These are presents for my college age kids. I think they will come in handy.
