When I opened these I noticed that the bit you attached to the door had little bumps that holds the cover the issue is if I had fitted this to my door without looking at it I would have a problem that I would not be able to remove the cover again because the fit was far too tight so was tempted to send them back but I realised that they were made of steel so decided to get my dremel out and removed all the little bump and check the fit with the cover until it dropped in and out of the cover smoothly then went back onto amazon to find some thin magnetic sheets bought them and because they had a sticky back cut to the same size as it the inside of the cover and stuck the magnetic sheet to the inside of the cover and finally the cover holds in place but is easy enough to take off so you can use the door lock and doesn't fall off

Perfect for what we needed it for on the inside of our garage to kitchen door which we rarely use from that side. It stops a cold draught coming through the key hole from the garage. The blanking cover can be removed by prying with a screwdriver or similar if we ever need to open the lock from the garage side

Nice solid escutcheon, some can be flimsy but this was nice and thick

The cover, once placed over he fitting, is extremely difficult to remove. Is free fitting and therefore comes off the mount completely. As a keyhole stop it works, as a cover it is impractical for anyone wanting to use the lock from the cover side.

This is a useless piece of equipment. It has no hinge so you have to remove the top plate to lock and unlock the door
