I ordered the 150 gallon Rubbermaid Stock Tank since I could purchase it cheaper than the 100 gallon version at the time of my order. I must say the thing is SOLID! I was leery after reading the review by Ken Preston regarding the inability to drain the water away as the drain plug is not a standard size. I was happy to find out that the drain plug is threaded on the outside AND the inside! (Possibly a change made after 2017?) The interior female part of the drain takes a 1 1/4 inch male fitting perfectly. I purchased an adaptor to size down from 1 1/4 inches to 3/4 inch. It worked perfectly! I then attached a ball valve and a hose adapter. Now I can attach my 3/4 inch garden hose and drain my tank far from where it sits. All parts were easy to find at my local Home Depot. The setup works great for me! I am very happy with the quality of the tank, the delivery time, and the additional cover I purchased to keep my tank from gathering leaves from my neighbors trees. At my height (5'9") I can sit in the tank and straighten my legs. The slope of the tank makes it comfortable to sit upright while leaning back on the tank wall. I would definitely recommend this tank for anyone looking for a sturdy tank for any number of uses.

The old one was cracked and leaking so this was a replacement I wanted to install before winter (and succeeded). A separate trucking service did the drop of - left it in the yard, in perfect condition. The strange thing is that Amazon and the trucking company didn't know they delivered it. It took me many times of telling them "I have it" to finally get them to understand. However, compared to the price to drive to pick one up, time for that, and the need to move it around more, it was still a very satisfactory experience. My horses are loving their water.

The tub/tank is very much as described and shown, it seems incredibly strong and should be durable. The ducks like swimming in it. I'd cheerfully give it five stars EXCEPT the 1-1/2" drain plug is a problem. If you need to pipe the drain water away or get it into a hose to distribute in the garden you can't do it as the tank comes from the factory. The plug actually measures 1-9/16 or 1.5625" in diameter. So, it's really close to 1-1/2" as stated, but this is not a standard pipe fitting diameter. The nearest pipe threads would be 1.660" in diameter (that's nominal 1-1/4" pipe thread, since pipe measures to the in side diameter). If you're happy to just unscrew the factory plug and let the water drain out into your boots where the horses stand, then this works fine. If you want to put a valve on it or pipe it away, not so well. The plug installs in a separate (harder plastic) fitting which passes through the wall of the tank in a molded hole that is 2-1/8" diameter. The nearest standard pipe thread fitting to accomplish the same thing requires a 2-1/4" diameter hole and costs about $15 from Amazon with free shipping. It SHOULD be easy enough to enlarge the factory hole by 1/8" diameter. . .that's only 1/16th all around, and that's what I'll do. It is disappointing that Rubbermaid's "customer care" people were completely ignorant about all of this and much more disappointing that they made no effort to figure it all out. Very odd. Anyway, if you see the threaded plug and think you will easily use pipe or hose to move the water away from the tank. . .no, you won't. I note that some other reviews comment that the tank leaks. The tank doesn't leak, but the plug and the through-tank fitting do. They aren't adequately tightened at the factory, so before or as you are filling it (if a drip will bother you) then be prepared to tighten both the plug and the larger fitting (a large crescent wrench and a pair of large water pump pliers will do it). I eventually added another couple wraps of the white pipe-fitting tape to get a perfectly dry seal.

150 gallons for a homemade soak to cool off. It’s way bigger than a regular bath tub. And the horses can use it after I’m done w it 4 the summer.
