Can you remove the dome?

It’s glued to the wood. I guess If you pull hard you can remove it. I removed mine to clean up then never glued back.

How wide is the wooden base

From what I remember, I think is was about 4". I don't have it. We had used it for a table decoration for my Great-granddaughter's 1st birthday. The theme for her party was Beauty and the Beast. It is a really beautiful piece.
