The Ames Companies, Inc 2586000 True Temper D-Grip Transfer Shovel with Wood Handle

This shovel is VERY well made. If I were in the construction or landscaping business, I would not hesitate to buy this tool. The length of the handle, from the footstep to the hand grip, is only 32 inches. So, this is a rather stubby shovel. I am 5 foot nine, and the handle is a good size for me. The footstep is wide, which allows you to get a good, solid footing. I'm glad I bought this shovel.

So to preface this, I had not actually ever touched a shovel before buying this on Amazon. I found one that had good reviews and bought it. It moved the dirt I needed moved and was easy to use. I liked that it is not super long so my vertically challenged self could maneuver it well. It also seems very sturdy and high quality.

I order an China Made ICE Scraper that pictured and stated it had a handle. I recieved a tool with NO HANDLE. I order this by size measurement and it is almost a perfect fit. Wood is strong and painted with a good coat of clear shellac or etc. I will allow me now to use the tool...and at a reduce cost than the CHINA people wanted for a proper handle.

Handle fit my shovel head after a slight modification for the goose neck sleeve. Shovel felt very stormy and secure once I had applied the enclosed rivet.

I bought two of these shovels to use for removing snow from the steps outside my house and garage. These shovels fit perfectly onto my concrete steps outside my house and garage. These shovels are perfect for my snow-removal task. Hopefully, the steel 'Nose' of these two shovels will hold-up to the friction of being 'pushed' over my concrete steps.

I've been using this shovel during the month of January to remove ice from my front walk. It has performed very well, held up well, and is comfortable to use.

Sortof does what it's supposed to do. Very thin steel, bends easily. Better to buy a Fiskars shovel.

Use it as emergency shovel in my car at school. Since I go to school in Michigan's UP, I have had to dig it out of the overnight snowfall several times already. Shorter length is perfect for storing in the car, yet able to shovel underneath the sides. Back of the blade is stable enough that I can get all the way to the ground, if I need to. Good stiff blade can get into the ice also.
