The bad reviews for this thing almost made me skip it… But then so many others have even worse ones. If you are in doubt, BUY THIS THING!I specifically waited over 4 months to write this to make sure I wouldn’t run into issues with durability, and I gotta say I am super impressed. So much so, I am buying a second one!This thing has so many thoughtful details: the cutout on the side of the tank so it is easier to slide under a lower faucet (like the ones you have in your bathroom), the carry handle on the tank, the way the LED helps illuminate the remaining water, the way you can not only direct the mist, but split it so it goes in two directions, the grooves on the lid so that any excessive moisture falls back into the tank, the ease of cleaning…I live in SE AZ, so it’s dry here, and the water is super hard. I’ve had a few humidifiers, and this one is head and shoulders above. It looks like the atomizer is ceramic coated, so it doesn’t collect quite as much calcium residue, the plastic is very smooth on the inside, also making it less likely for things to cake on. Yes, it *does* release a lot of the “white dust” as these things are wont to do when your water contains a lot of calcium, and on the black matte finish, it shows. But for me, it is actually helpful cause when I start seeing the white scale on the outside, I know it is time for me to give the thing a good vinegar cleaning (about every three days). I have ADHD, so I am prone to forgetting and that can really shorten the life of these appliances.It is also whisper quiet. I hate hate hate white noise. This thing sits by the head of my bed, so I need it to be quiet. I was a little concerned that I could only put it on sleep mode, which is great, but it drastically reduces output, and with how dry it is here, and the fact that I try to stay at at least 50% humidity, that wouldn’t have worked. Even at its highest setting, though, it is still incredibly quiet.The hygrometer on the machine is also very good. I have a separate hygrometer to check that my orchids stay at the right level, and the readings match. Of course, I try to bring the humidity to 80%, which is nearly impossible with just one humidifier when the regular humidity is at like 10-15%. So this thing just sits there pumping. But the shut-off works — I know this cause when I spray my plants and the humidity goes past the setting, it does the thing. Note: this humidifier easily gets me to 50-60%, whereas others struggled to keep it at 30-35%.On an esthetic level, I love the sleek black look, as opposed to the hospital white that most of these appliances choose. Again, it does show the white powder, but that takes a few days, and it cleans off easy with a paper towel dipped in vinegar.

I have only used these for a couple of weeks; so, I can not address their overall durability but I have had no problems so far. They are very compact and blend in unobtrusively into the rooms' decor but still hold about 1 1/2 gallon of water and produce an ample amount of vapor. They are easy top fill and have easy to understand/use controls but no remote control. Lights can be turned off for night time use if that bothers as it does me. I am most impressed by how quiet they are and are the quietest humidifiers I have ever used. Very good value for the price.

UPDATE: Customer service reached out to me, and replaced one of the units and refunded the other one. I appreciate that they contacted me and wanted to remedy the situation.I recently bought 2 of these humidifiers. I love the look, sleek and simply! They worked perfectly for about 6 weeks, now both turn off constantly and won't stay on. I've double and triple checked everything. The humidity levels, timer, water level, etc. They simply have stopped working correctly.

Super quiet. I can't hear it at all, even on high at night. My wife is super picky with noise and she can't hear it either. Works very very well. Humidity is over 60% now at night in our very large master bedroom in Colorado which normally is in the 30% range without it. Very impressed. Easy to fill, quiet, great features and it works. What more can you ask for?

I don't know how this got 253 positive ratings when it doesn't hold the water in the machine. The first time I filled it just below the max line and ensured the base was on a level surface. I plugged it in and turned it on and while I was attempting to set the digital portion I noticed water flooding out from the top of the base portion, ruining the table it was on, and running down the cord, towards the outlet. I was terrified to unplug it at that point because i didn't want to die today, but I unplugged the entire multiplug outlet from the wall an then removed that cord. I decided to dump the water in the base of the machine, though there is not a lip or rim on it so every step I took, dumped more water into my carpet and onto the kitchen floor. It was a complete nightmare. I reread the instructions to see if I missed a step. They are in broken English, by the way, and some key words are missing. The only thing that I didn't do was "remove cotton from machine" because there isn't any visible. So I still had half a container of water in the top part so I put it back together again, making sure everything was on tightly, and plugged it back in, and immediately, water began gushing out from the base, so I unplugged it and while doing that, I knocked over the top part onto my sofa, spilling several liters onto my microfiber couch and carpet. This was a complete nightmare. I wanted it to work because I liked the features it offered and it was highly rated. But this is a horrible machine and people should steer clear of it. I looked at the reviews and there was someone else who had this same problem back in May 2022, so I don't know if they resold me her defective unit as a new machine, or if they have several machines out there with the same issue... but whatever the case. Do not buy this one. IT's not worth the hassle of having to clean everything and hope your furniture doesn't mildew/get moldy. Not worth the hassle. not worth the stress. Buy something with more ratings.UPDATE: A little piece of blue foam at the bottom of the machine was causing the leakage. The instructions say remove COTTON foam from the machine but there was no COTTON. That is what I was looking for. Even with this issue solved, the machine kept turning off and registering 99% humidity. I had a humidistat next to it that showed it was only 49% on the table it was sitting on. Every time I left the room, the machine turned off. The color light button wouldn't respond 80% of the time, and eventually it just began beeping rapidly and wouldn't stop. I unplugged it and then plugged it back in and it was still beeping nonstop. Check the 1-star reviews, there is another review with a video that shows the issue I had. I don't know if Amazon repackaged their old machine and sent it to me or if this is a fault of the machine or batch it was produced in, but there are many reviews between May and July 2022 with similar problems.In summary:* Bad instructions say cotton piece. They need to remove the word cotton and replace with "piece of blue foam on bottom of tank" to prevent the overflow issues.* Bad hardware/wiring issues with flashing lights and rapid, nonstop beeping.* Machine shuts off repeatedly.* Machine does not accurately reflect the humidity level in the roomI'm returning this and looking for something else.

This humidifier is nice. It holds a gallon, its quiet, has 3 levels, a timer up to 24 hours, night light or turn off lights and more. I use it at night on a 4 hour timer and its great every time. Read the instructions and remove the tape holding things. Great unit.
