Regalo para mi sobrina la primera Navidad🎄First Christmas gift for my (first) newborn baby niece. They are ‘mini’, so have higher pitch than normal size - but they are tunable and sound great. They are professionally built, beautifully finished and should last my niece a lifetime.

high quality. a real instrument. not a toy
at $34, i thought, these will be more like a toy than a real instrument. NOT! these are small but you can extract nuance from them. actually, i'm a drummer and installed them on a rack. i play them with sticks, but i can get a great sound by paying around the head and with rim shots. they're tunable! real cowskin heads. real lugs and real solid wood. some reviewers mentioned they'd use them to practice while travelling. for a pro or serious hobbyist, i doubt that would work given the head size. i'd recommend a 6" toca for that purpose. but for a cool effect, which is how i'm using them they're great. i've got them installed with a set of toca bongos, lp aspire bongos, set of junior congas, and three full size congas. yes, its rediculous, but i get the full range from tiny bell-like sounds from the minis all the way down to the big kahunas.

Nice Product
My grandson just turned 7 and gave him the Mini Bongos for his Birthday. He was excited not only because he wanted them but they are small enough to fit between his legs to play. Product is well built and are nice looking. Well worth the price and would recommend them for kids under 10 of age. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give a 10 rating at this time. He's only had them for about 2 weeks.Mr. M

Suprisingly good, but maybe not a good starter drum
I love mine, but they might not be right for someone just starting out. The small size makes them harder to play; you have to be very precise and hit them harder, and the sound is not very bongo-like at all. That said, they are more than toys; the sound they do make is clear and pleasing depending on how you tune them (and position them), they are well made and very beautiful. I tune it so the hembra sounds like horse hooves and the macho sounds like Woody Woodpecker, alot of fun to play. Also, you can (carefully) mount these on a standard snare drum stand. UPDATE: 2/19/14 : they still sit on my coffee table and I still play them often, just ordered a pair for my sister.

well made, looks differ, very small
the bongos sound great right from the box. they are ready to play and seem like really good quality especially for a small child. they don't look quit as nice as the one you see in the picture, the wood looks different. but they play well and my 3 year old son really like them so far. would have easily been 5 stars but i don't like false advertising. you should get exactly what you pay for. in this case it's cosmetic, but it's the principle.

Pay Attention to the Size
These are very nice, great craftsmanship... BUT! They are tiny! As you can see by my picture. They would make a great knick-knack, not very useful for playing music, though. I got a real pair of Mienl Bongos (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00275G79O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) for about $15 more. These babies sound (and look) great!

Huge hit in a small package...
My 2 year old LOVES to play the drums. These bongos are very small with wonderful, real sound that can be played by adults as well. They are heavy, so if a child uses them, you have to teach them how to be careful with them since they are real & not a toy. They are beautifully crafted and tunable. Big hit with my daughter and the look on people's faces when they hear what great sound they have is priceless.
