Good Quality, Strong, Durable and Waterproof
This is my very first purchase of a cargo bag or any kind or cargo roof carrier. I've looked at cargo boxes vs cargo bags. I went with the bag due to the ease of set up, removal and stow away.I ordered the 16 Cubit Feet for our 2018 ford explorer. it was exactly what we needed. The product itself was great. It is exactly what they advertise. I was very happy with it. It is strong and definitely waterproof. Great quality materials and easy to fold after use.We drove over 1,000 miles this summer and the bag performed excellent. We drove in light and very very heavy rain and wind. And the bag protected our items. No rips, no noise on the road. Even driving over 75 MPH....But I did notice a slight dip in our MPG as mentioned in other reviews of bags and cargo boxes. So that's nothing out of the ordinary.Although you don't need a roof rack but having a cross bar was very helpful. One issue with 16 cubit or a larger bag is that it has to sit on top of the rear cross bar. But it did very well. And I love the fact that you can remove and fold the bag away when we reach our destinations. But here are things I've learned in general for this product or any other carrier bags.First, I had an item that was slightly taller. Although it fit in the bag with other items, but due to the low clearance of our garage, I had to load that item in the bag outside of the garage... And yes, you've guessed it.... In the rain....Second, getting up and down with opening and closing the bag was getting tiring. We had a long road trip needing overnights in hotel to get to our destinations the next day. To avoid going up and down all the time, we packed a few clothes in one separate bag and keep inside the car with us for the overnight stay to avoid going up and down to unzip and zip the bag. Especially when it rains. That's the only time your items will get wet.Third, Not sure why, but they did not include tie down hooks. Although it doesn't matter if you have a roof rack. But if you don't, those tie down hooks definitely helps. I bought an extra strap with those tie down hooks for extra protection. As for a carrier bag, I think this is the best one out of all the others that I've searched. After our long trip under the natural elements, I have to admit that the bag performed very well.

Almost perfect. Can't beat the value!
This roof bag truly is the business. Taken on a 2700 mile roadtrip and the thing has been brilliant overall. It does hold a heck of a lot of stuff (see third photo) and has withstood some pretty intense storms, heat and wind but kept everything inside bone dry and as it was when packed. The included straps worked great - I see no need to buy additional/replacements as suggested by others. I used the Roofpax tie down door hooks which are sold seperately to attach it to the car and it worked splendidly. Although matting came with the bag - all coming to less than $100 when originally purchased. You can't argue with that vs spending hundreds of $ on a Thule/Yakima style roof box and rails. So, why not 5 stars? The velcro strips that keep the flaps over the zipper covered lost their bond to the bag after only a couple of weeks (see fifth photo). This was perhaps because of heat, where the bag was on the car outside under a 90 degree + sun most days. It looks like not enough glue was used on each velcro piece during manufacture. I reglued these with a super glue so not a huge job, but still a hassle.Things to keep in mind when using:- Pack the bag as much as possible to reduce wind noise and improve fuel efficiency. Especially important for the front face of the bag.- Use space saver bags to increase the amount of stuff you can fit inside.- Spend the time to adjust the straps evenly before traveling so they only require minimal tightening/readjustment once out on the road.- Use velcro or similar to tie loose ends of straps and prevent them flapping around, or wrap them around and tuck them in. Otherwise the loose ends create a lot of noise at high speeds and could scratch the car paint.- Buy a simple combination padlock to lock the the zip for extra security.- Wash your car's roof before putting the mat and bag on, to prevent any dirty marks being baked onto the car's paint.- Cut some foam/leftover matting to protect the car paint from against the straps (see fourth photo). If you need to cover a fair distance and need a cost conscious yet effective way of moving your stuff with a car, definitely get one!

Sturdy Worth it Buy It Don't blink or think about it
Let's start with dislikes NONEI had to crawl on the roof that's on me: the mat provides and provided no shifting at all on my 1200 mile journey. None. No shifting at all. Your given 4 thingy straps they are all you need for the size of this product.Let's get to the bag partMy son set it up quickly.Mat Bag StrapsVery easy to Install( I put a large suitcase 2 tote bags 4 or 5 vacuum seal bags)I would say Roomy, very durable thick materialThe zippers are magnificentNo issues they are covered with a lined liner Velcro on top of themDurability I drove through 5 states up and down. Still looks brand new.Roomy, what noise level there was none. No noise no shifting. All the expensive ones out thereI seen the reviews. I decided to purchase this one. I'm very glad I did and I get to use it again because it's brand new, intact, not a thing wrong with it, except for my short people problems trying to teach the top of the vehicle.
