Truly enjoyed!
I purchased this on audio first as I listen to books on my daily commute and usually that's enough. In this case I also bought the kindle version because I was enjoying it so much and there are so many ideas, facts, point of views, stories and perceptions that I wanted to take notes. The first half of the book introduces you to some of the leader novelists on the topic of innovation, what they wrote and the highlight points of their books. I loved this idea because you get the high overview of innovation as a whole and a glimpse at what books you want to invest in for deeper dive. The second half of the book is him discussing what he learned from being an innovation specialist for the nearly past two decades. He himself has great ideas and point of views as well as more than a few success and fail stories of his own. He's able to tell you an idea then make it concrete with a real world example. If you get the audio version; I loved the reader. He was fun to listen to and clearly understandable. Keep in mind you'll probably want to take notes though because each chapter is packed with ideas so if you listen in the car use a voice recorder or buy the book/kindle version as a companion.

Concise, correct, compelling - buy this book
So I'm getting ready for an innovation workshop and my clients tell me that they want to have a special session on where they can find the resources for innovation, how to provide the right incentives, how to navigate the relationship with the parent company, etc. etc.I thought to myself "oh brother" as I contemplated pulling together piles of distilled wisdom on these topics and synthesizing them. "But wait?" I thought to myself, "perhaps someone has done this already...perhaps in fact someone has gone to the trouble of making it easy to understand, locating it in one place, and putting it in actionable terms that a manager could relate to." And Voila I turned to the "Little Black Book' and right there on pages 207-245 were answers that might have been lifted word-for-word from replies to my clients' questions. Thank you!I'm planning to use it in my workshop next month, and posted about it on my blog just now ([...])It really is a great little book, and should be on every innovation manager's reading list.

An innovator's tool kit
An interesting book that shared the different views of innovation guru and more importantly, provides "toolkits" for readers to start their own innovation journey.

Great Overview of Innovation
Scott Anthony has done a terrific job of providing an overview of what it takes for a company to innovate. His overview is comprehensive without being overly long.Anthony defines innovation cleanly and concisely as "Something different that has impact." while also stating that it is a "process that combines discovering an opportunity, blueprinting an idea to seize that opportunity, and implementing that idea to achieve results."His masters of innovation chapter provide a very helpful recent history of the major contributors to our current understanding of innovation.Anthony's 28 day innovation program clearly lays out a step by step process for any company looking to develop their own innovation capabilities.I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to develop their company's innovation capability because of its broad, balanced, and definitive presentation of innovation.

I have mixed feelings about the book
The book will definitively help you to get some ideas and will provide you with resources for further research on the topic. I bought 3 books more after reading the advise provided by Mr. Scott D. Anthony.Part I of the book: What I don't appreciate is that the style of the book is based on praising others. It is a collection of thought of other people. I would see nothing wrong with that if the author would add more from his personal thought and experience.Part II: it is a bit dry read but after all will inspire you.

One for the masses
I manage a team of individuals in a very large organization and I have been waiting for a book like this for a very long time. For the serial innovator, this book may be a little light, but for individuals and teams wanting to get with the program or are being cajoled into innovation initiatives, I can't think of another simpler or more practical primer than this. While I found a few spots that I thought were corny in there, this is something that I will not hesitate to recommend for entire teams and organizations as a synthesis on innovation and a starting point in their innovation journey. It is an easy read and it was hard to put down. Even if only one internal/non-commercial idea is identified and implemented within an organization using the practical tools and simple exercises in the second part of the book, one would have thousand-folded their investment. And I am only looking at it from an internal cost center perpective. I see strong potential here for pervasive transformation of individuals, teams, and organizations if used systematically.

Absolutely essential
Some reviews require many words. This one does not. From start to finish, Scott Anthony serves up innovation theory and application with an engaging blend of depth, clarity, and practicality. There's little more I can say without wasting space. This is a must-have for those who want to learn to innovate profitably.

Excellent piece of work !!
I have read many books on the topic of innovation and found most of them dwell around examples on how others have made stunning and simple innovations in their respective markets. This book helps in with some useful tips and let you ponder over them again and again. I have learnt the true meaning of disruptive innovation and had dog-eared the book multiple times. Kudos to Scott Antony ~~ Vijay Chari , Director , COVIDIEN India Engineering
