LIGHTAILING Led Light for Lego 10297 Boutique Hotel Building Blocks Model - NOT Included The Model Set

The media could not be loaded. This is my second led kit install from lighttailing. I love how it looks. These light kits bring so much joy to the lego build, really highlighting the details and the amazement of the big builds. I was so relieved to discover that this kit preserves the modularity of the hotel, so you can remove the roof and each floor without unplugging or pulling wires. There are 4 separate light strands, which connect with a thin conductive strip that touches a brick attached to the floor above. Genius! This does mean that you have a couple bricks that are "ruined" and the kit cannot be uninstalled cleanly. That's not a problem for me.However, these conductive strips and VERY fiddly and required a ton of patience to get them to line up without pressing on one side of the roof. It helped to 1. Make sure the wires are concealed well and not poking up the adjacent brick and 2. *Gently* bend the prongs upward. I did not bend gently and ended up snapping the prong. This would have been a disaster if not for my handy soldering iron. I won't take off any stars for that since it was my own fault. I was able to get it working after only a mild panic.Unfortunately I did have one wire break, which was surprising since I had been very gentle with the wires. Luckily, this break was towards the middle of the wire and I was able to strip and twist the wires back together.Overall, this is such a great kit once you have it all done. A little frustrating at times, but they always are. Installing the kit is hands-down harder than building the lego set. I definitely recommend this brand, and will continue to buy from them! The instructions are very minimal but I think it's enough to go on.

The media could not be loaded. Very easy install. Whether you use the YouTube tutorial or the booklet instructions, this was a fairly easy to install kit. You just want to make sure your contact points line up cleanly and are secured firmly when attaching levels. This set compliments the Jazz club (different light kit) wonderfully. Very pleased. I recommend using a continuous USB power source. These are 5V MAX, so before plugging in, you’ll need an inexpensive 5V adaptor/converter so you don’t burn them out. I bought a pack of three here on Amazon fairly cheap. Using the battery pack will chew thru batteries you want to keep your set lit. Hope you enjoy the light set as much as I do.

This lighting kit allows the hotel to still come apart at each level because it uses contact connections to link the floors. Brilliant and an excellent addition to this lego set.

I have been working in the Hotel industry since 2008 so when the Boutique Hotel Lego set came out I bought it on the first day available. After getting the set put together I saw that kits like this were available online. This kit is very easy to apply to the set and intuitively woven through the set to still allow the floors to come apart without issue.Also as soon as I showed pictures of the lit up set to my manager at my job he bought his own Boutique Hotel set and Light kit. It now has a place of prominence in the back office at our hotel.

This light set makes my boutique look awesome...but be ready for a challenge.The instructions leave a lot to be desired, and making sure all of the 'connectors' line up is another, but mine came together beautifully. After SEVERAL HOURS!I love it!

Excellent product! Not only does my son love it but so do I. Makes it feel like you could just walk in the front door and live there. Brings Lego to life!

Once it's complete, it looks good, however it is hard to maintain connectivity between the different floors of the hotel because the contact pads and the 2x1 pieces thay connect with them don't always marry up too well. It took me about 30 extra minutes and a lot of fiddling with 2 sided tape to get the floors upper floors of the hotel to reliably light up. I haven't used any other kits, and this was my first time using lightailing.I have other lightailing kits and am curious to see how they work.Ultimately you'd like to be able to take the levels off and let your kids play with the minifigures inside them and put them back on again without it being so finicky.
