Q: Will this unit also control ws2812b rgbw light strips? or will only work with standard rgb?

this controller can control all of the IC type. WS2811 WS2812BRGB SK6812RGBW (WS2812RGBW) APA102C WS2801 SK9822 WS2813 WS2818 etc . It depend on which IC type it is .

Q: Could the inputs be used as a trigger? Trying to use dome and door negative triggers in car
