More restrained than a traditional cologne. But with just as much va-va-voom. Not as stiff as an evening shirt but as strong as a pre-dinner drink. Not as instantly recognisable as a citrus, but with just as much zest. But pray, what lies behind the confusion? Could it be basil? Basil! Bright as day, and fresh as a sun-warmed mountain stream. Accompanied by clean white floral notes (jasmine, lily of the valley) and cardamom, here lies the most singular freshness - without any of the discomfort of the unrecognisable and the new. The moss that cushions the transition of this olfactory journey (into almost sunny amber depths) meets patchouli to take us back to familiar ground. Quercus, as everyone knows, is Latin for oak, and the British national tree. It’s familiar, but terribly strange.

Love it!
This is a wonderful scent. It starts off a bit overpowering and kind of citrus like but quickly softens out to a subtle scent that is neither overly floral or sweet. It's hard to describe but I do love it. It's long lasting on your clothing. I honestly think this would be good for either a man or a woman. Spray a quick mist on your sweaters or shirts and enjoy the scent throughout the day, or a bit on your nightwear and a bit of warmth will bring it out. Penhaligon's stopped making my favorite, Violetta, but since then I have found Iris Prima, Juniper Sling, and this. All are wonderful, lasting but not overpowering. People often stop me and ask what scent I'm wearing. Other perfumes change into soapy smells. These evolve but in a nice way. They are definitely worth the extra money.

My Second most favorite mens perfume!
I've gotten compliments on this every single time. I am a lady and wear this perfume frequently. It is very long-lasting. And yeah also smells incredibly fresh and clean!! This one has a citrusy element which is amazing! I wonder why such gender segregation exists in perfumes. All perfumes should be ideally UniSex!!

Great unisex fragrance for spring/summer
Fantastic scent. Bright and almost lemony but not overpowering; liked it better than Blenheim Bouquet. Can be unisex ...in fact both men and women were asking what I was wearing. Can be worn year round but best for spring/summer.

Rating Penhaligon's cologne
Nice and pleacent aroma, it's a clean scent while it last, it goes away by the end of the day. And it's to expensive.

Worth the money
This is the best cologne I've ever smelled! I'm not good at describing scents, but it's delicious on my man. He bought a sampler from the company that makes Quercus and this one is by far the best. SEXY!!

Different bottle
The bottle I received did not match the picture of bottle I had ordered. I don’t know if it’s a generic brand but I expect the picture to match the product received.

great day time scent
really like this scent...I wish it lingered a bit longer...some say it is like CK, but to me it is more subtle and complex. This with Juniper Slingon hand is all I need...
