Good things cost more..Duh..actual good clean tasty non toxic, strong a$$ coffee, time to wake up
This coffee is stellar, anyone saying anything negative about taste or price points doesn't know what they're talking about. My favorite of Kicking Horse so far is "Happy Camper" Medium Roast...wow insanely good and tasty and most importantly organic and non toxic. 10-13 bucks a bag is not a lot to pay for this tasty high quality stuff. This stuff makes my already high functioning brain zing all day. I also eat clean quality food and don't touch alcohol so that helps too. Brands like Purity are 30 bucks a small bag. Sorry people this stuff is the real deal..this what good coffee costs. If you been spending 4-8 bucks on small bag coffee, you aren't saving money you are just drinking substandard coffee. Love the "Three Sisters" Medium and lastly i love "Kick Ass" as well if you prefer dark Roast.

Best Coffee on the market!
This coffee is amazing! It's very smooth, doesn't give you the jitters and the taste is so good! I will subscribe for this coffee now that I've tried it. It is rated one of the top 2 best coffees on the market. It's tested and is very clean. I highly recommend trying it. You will love it and want to subscribe, too.

Good Coffee
So far this is good coffee from a very good brand. Its a bit acidic for my taste and not as robust as I prefer but this a good medium roast coffee. Its smooth and has a clean finish on the palate, with bright notes. For organic coffee the price is very fair and the quality is good. Overall a great coffee.

Battle=won!
Short story long... We love a good coffee, so taste, profile, body, acidity etc. all need to be spot on to make the cut. The best way to get what you want, how you want it is to buy the raw beans, roast and grind yourself. But who has time for that? So we decided to have another kid... I love the kid, but he has the lungs of a screeching spider monkey that just hit the lottery. So getting the average of 30 minutes of sleep at a time, our Nespresso and Keurig single cup makers couldn't keep up come morning. I know what you're thinking, (you say you're a coffee snob but you use a keurig?!" .. Yes.. when you're getting negative sleep each night, convenience is nice. Not saying it's a great cup of coffee, but it satisfies well enough. The Nespresso makes a pretty solid cup of coffee, but the cost per pod is much higher. I can't afford to spending all that money for pods with as much as we're drinking lately... that's like a Ferrari a week. So here we are... with a drip pot. Add that to our pour over, french press, two pod makers, moka... our house looks like a Starbucks on steroids. But hey, for the sake of quantity and money, we'll give it a shot. So I went in search of a great roast... This was the real uphill battle.. a battle that took us through every roast on the store shelves, and many through Amazon. We searched high and low for a good roast, our taste buds longing for a good cup of coffee... but all we found was bitterness, weak roasts and acidity that would make drinking from a car battery enticing. We tried to fine tune amounts... ultra filtered water.. we even mixed various roasts together, which actually helped.. but who can live like that?! So the journey continued... with fear we may never have good coffee again. Sure, at this point going on -5671 hours of sleep, the caffeine was a primary issue, keeping me from turning into Gollum... and we were still being supplied that. But our taste buds longed for something good again. Our search continued, until one day we were at a discount store and bought a bag of Kicking Horse to try. At this point, with all the money we were wasting on bad coffee I practically had to work overtime and get a second job.. (just kidding... but seriously...) we started grabbing some to try at the discount store. Brought this puppy home - our first bag of Kicking Horse - and was excited to try it. I looked at the bag and my heart dropped like a lead balloon. On the side, it said "Decaf". After shaking my head in shame and wondering what my wife was going to say about my man card, I decided to try it. To my surprise, it was a very good roast... especially for a demonic, perverted thing like Decaf! But we still needed caffeine... we'll keep that Decaf for a rainy day when we no longer need the caffeine.. like when the kids get married or something. This whole occurrence however, was my gateway to Kicking Horse. We decide to try some of their other roasts, since the Decaf reeled us in. I ordered the Three Sisters, Kick @$$, and Smart @$$. We usually like a darker roast, so I thought I'd like that one best, but I found it a little weak to be honest. Still good taste, and no bitterness... kinda like that good old hunting dog. He's a good dog, loyal, but doesn't really help you out. Then I tried the other two, and Three Sisters blew my socks off! For a medium roast, it was a nice strong roast. No bitterness or harsh acidity, and the flavor profile was amazing! My first taste of this was Heavenly... as if the angels were singing. Seriously... if I could tap an iv of this straight into my bloodstream I would. So there it is... best roast I've had in a long time. My only regret is that they don't sell it by the pallet full. Kid still sleeps horrible, but hey... at least we can have a good cup of coffee in the morning that not only gives us caffeine, but also is enjoyable to drink. Thanks, Kicking Horse!!

UPDATED: Kick Ass, Smart Ass Roasts, Three Sisters, & Decaf
In the last couple of weeks, I have purchased 3 different Kicking Horse roasts to try. My favorite 2 lb bag of coffee has dramatically increased in price so I am on the hunt for a more reasonably priced brew. The appeal with Kicking Horse is that you get a little bit more (2.2 lbs) at only like $2-3 more than what I was spending on my previously favorite brew that jumped $13 in price for less coffee. My first try was Smart Ass...not gonna lie....it was the name that appealed to me and it was a medium roast. I purchased in the 10 oz bag which is not cost effective in the long run, but for a trial, was fine. I really wanted to like it because the name so fits my personality but I just couldn't. I am not a fan of the "fruity sweet" roasts and that's what this came across as to me. The other downside was that it had a bitterness to it which also told me the grind was not very fresh, but even without that, I still wouldn't have liked the flavor. Unfortunately, it got dumped into the trash. Next on the list was Kick Ass, a dark roast. I used to drink dark roasts all the time and never had a problem but once I had found my previous favorite, which was a medium, and was drinking it regularly, I started having a hard time with going back to the dark. The overall flavor profile fits my palette much nicer, but the "burnt" earthiness that comes with a lot of dark roasts was just too apparent to me on its own. Unlike the Smart Ass though, this one did not get dumped as I found that if I brew it with a bit of pumpkin spice, cinnamon, or cardamom, that burnt flavor dissipates and rounds it out nicely. Since that is something I typically add to my brew anyway, I would consider keeping this one in mind as a back up roast. I am hoping my third bag, Three Sisters, a medium roast which has a flavor profile similar to the Kick Ass (and my other favorite medium roasts), will be the end of my tasting journey and I will have a new regular which can be purchased in the larger, more cost-effective bags and in whole bean. The only reason I have not tried it yet is because I don't want to waste the Kick Ass. I will probably update my review once I do try it though. 1/29/21 UPDATE - I am officially disappointed in Kicking Horse coffee. At this point the only one I do like is their decaf which is not bitter like most other decafs. It was why I gave their other caffeinated options a try during my hunt for a new regular brew. I have determined that if Kick Ass were a medium roast instead of dark, it would be my new favorite. I don't know if this bag of Three Sisters was stale but it seemed to have a sweet taste (like the Smart Ass) that I don't care for followed by a bitter taste which is usually due to stale beans. I tossed the first cup and tried a second cup with cinnamon added to it (same as I did with the Kick Ass that evened it out) and I could still taste that sweet bitter like I did with the Smart Ass. Needless to say, the hunt continues.

Good coffee
Bold but not bitter, enjoying this coffee. I bought because of it’s organic content, definitely will be my number one coffee, nice aroma while brewing.
