Battery life is only drawback
High quality pictures and rather fast interface. Pairing to the app was simple and almost did it on its own.The battery life isn't great, however. Down 9% in about 5-7min of use. I would still recommend it, however.

Good but Audio gets distorted in high volume scenario.
All looks good to me except the Audio which gets distorted in high volume scenario.Battery drains out fast, heating is normal. If audio is not big deal, go for it.

Overheats Constantly, Awful Video, Average Photos
This camera overheats if it is turned on while plugged into a USB-C port.We tested this several times, and 100% of the time, it would overheat within 5-10 minutes. This is just with the camera on, while plugged in. It was not even recording. The video is very low quality. It is just as bad as the Theta Z1. In fact, the video is not usable for any use-case that we could think of.The photos are average, and like the Z1, not quite in focus. We returned this camera, after 1 day of use.

Wow. Like flying.
Don't know how they do it... But... WOW. Impressive. There's lots of in depth reviews, critiques of good and bad... ... ... For me, it's like flying in a plane.. Sitting in a chair, going through the air a 100's of MPH, 1000's of feet off the ground and ... bitching about the peanuts or standing in a line... you're flying... it's amazing... it's not about the nuts... so... details aside... this Theta X 360 is like flying... it is nothing short of amazing... and about as easy as it gets to figure out and get good results.

Great for stills, overheats for live streaming video after 1 minute
Still image quality is pretty good all things considered. Still not the level of quality you'd get from snapping multiple shots with a smartphone or an array of action cameras, which is disappointing at this price point. GPS will ONLY work when triggering the shutter release via the smartphone app -- the bluetooth remote will not achieve this. Battery life is rough at 45 minutes but you can at least swap out batteries as needed. The biggest thorn in my side was that the camera overheats and shuts down after 1 minute of live streaming video in WLAN Client mode. I tried 2 of these Theta X's to confirm the first one was not just a dud.

Entry level Professional 360 camera?
I'm a professional real-estate photographer. I purchased this camera to create 3D tours. I have found some shortcomings of this device which not many people mention. The first is that this device consumes a lot of power. I really can't go longer than thirty minutes or about 22 3D images before I have to replace the battery. I quickly learned that I needed spares. Secondly I recently experience overheating. I do live in Nevada mind you, but it wasn't hotter than 85F that day. I literally had to blow on the camera to cool it down to get to turn on again after it overheated. To me this overheating disqualifies it from the category of a professional product. I contacted customer service and they advised me to swap out batteries as that is the source of the overheating. I haven't tested that "fix" but that's not exactly convenient now is it?

Image quality was unusable
I ended up returning this camera.I really wanted to like this camera. I wanted to take 360 images while outdoors. I found the image quality to be so poor that the images were unusable. Perhaps my unit was defective somehow? HDR mode was very blury even on a tripod. Normal settings also had too much blur and anything outside of a close focal distance was noisy and unsharp. As other reviewers said the battery life is very short.I did find the camera easy to use and the menus simple to navigate.

Good 360 camera, useful features, PC support is awful, streaming is basically impossible.
I really wanted to like this camera, but It just doesn't work very well for streaming. There's supposed to be a driver or some software from the Ricoh website, but it seems to not exist anymore. If you plug it in to a computer it will allow you to switch to streaming mode, but unfortunately it's not a fully functional UVC interface, so normal software (i tried OBS, Windows Camera, VLC, and guvcview) can't open it. There's a Plug-In which can stream directly to YouTube/Facebook, but it causes the camera to overheat after just a minute or two so it's also useless. If you only want it for stills and per-recorded stuff it's a great choice, but it's not viable for streaming. There's a GitHub repo of a custom build if libuvc and some examples, but even when I got them to build I couldn't get them to open the camera for streaming. I tried this in the factory firmware and updated to 1.30 (current as of 11-19-2022) and no luck. Maybe in the future it will be fixed, but for now I can't recommend it.

Good, but overheated easily
I doubt if I'm using it in wrong place? In SG, it overheats after 5min outside filming. I fully understand that since SG is in tropical area. However, in north CHN, it overheats after 8min outside filming, in winter under 0C. Fortunately, it's a good stuff for warming my hands in such frozen days. Probably this product is designed for using at north/south pole.
