Tiny
The pictures made it look like a dry erase board. It’s not! It’s also tiny!!!!! So tiny!!!!! We were very disappointed! The main drawing space is only like a four inch square. I wouldn’t buy it again, or gift it to others.

a little hard for an average 8 yr old
This gift frustrated my children. I was a Christmas gift and its the only one not played with because its a little hard for them to put together. I guess I should help but that defeats the purpose of the gift

Finally assembled, does not work! A big disappointment for an 8-yr-old.
Difficult for an 8-yr old to assemble alone. Once assembled, one of the dials was too hard for a child to turn and, if you applied too much pressure, some of the other parts would pop loose. The rubber bands provided are not strong enough to prevent this.It was disheartening to watch my grandson's initial enthusiasm turn into disappointment when he couldn't get the device to function at all. Luckily, if wasn't his only present. I will never buy from this vendor again.

The assembly video and the shipped parts had many mismatches.
Great concept that is executed poorly. The video and the shipped parts had too many mismatches with no possible workarounds. Defeats the purpose of a STEM-based gift.

Nice gift for STEM interested children.
This kit comes nicely packaged and my boys have enjoyed tinkering with assembly to get to the finished sketching machine. My older son did a summer camp through a local STEM based company a couple of years ago that used similar material and similar styled components for their projects. I feel this is slightly better quality than those end products though.Definitely a nice gift for any kids who are interested in how things work, building machines, and drawing.For clarity, I received this product free for my honest review.
