Great AVR easy setup and really good sound
A mixed bag of reviews about this AVR...some bad but most good. I go with good..Reasons are ,its easily set up thanks to the audisay function with on screen instructions .multiple HDMI inputs (all assignable) with latest 4k and 4 with 8k enabled capabilities. The eArc output works really well making great picture and sound performance. I've got it working with my Lg 5.1 surround sound speakers which came with LG Home theater system (had to change subwoofer as LG one was a passive one and connection was wrong type, ) solved this by buying a powered sub ( Fenton 8") the sound quality is excellent my 5.1 never sounded so good. Only downside is that it's not Dolby Atmos enabled, but on saying that Dolby + and Dolby Vision works exceptionally well. All hooked up to my LG C1 4k TV. To end for the price it's a great buy and happily to recommend to anyone on a budget for getting that home cinema experience. Just one more side note : sometimes changing to media channel fails ( think it's a bug .hopefully gets fixed in later updates) easily fixed by turning off AVR with remote and back on again. Literally just a few seconds. Apart from these two minor gripes, still well worth the money.

First impressions very good
Easy to set up and very well featured. I have only had it two days but I am impressed with the sound. The app seems to work well.

Excellent performance but hard work to use.
Sadly our 22-year old Denon receiver gave up the ghost this year. What to replace it with at a cost not in the £thousands was the question. After much painful research The Denon clone of our dead one was chosen. The most important result was that we thought we heard a significant increase in sound detail from the Phono, Optical and Media Player inputs. The tuner performance on BBC Radio 3 was the same (not surprisingly). We are still unsure about whether the increased detailing was real or imagined,However, it all comes at the cost of a great deal of effort with the remote to get the best out of every individual input source. Bless them, the engineers, they have put an enormous amount of work inoptimising the output to get the best of all the possible sound-mangling formats and codecs that it can be all too much to fathom. Unfortunately if you choose he wrong options and setups, the sound outputcan easily be disappointing; then you have to sort it by working through the menus and switches. It is just about worth it and then it is fantastic value at a good price.

Good performance and simple set up
This is a well made and good looking product that was nice and simple to set up. But I had to move it after a while and needed to go through the speaker setup again. To do that you need to move the HDMI cable from the ARC terminals to normal HDMI terminals in your receiver and TV otherwise you can’t see the onscreen instructions. There is nothing in the instructions that tell you this so it was quite frustrating. Sounds good now though.

Absolutely great
I bought this to replace a very cheap amp to listen to music and watch Netflix, etc. This amp is absolutely great, and the sound is outstanding (obviously that also depends on the speakers, cables, and wires). The setup takes a bit of time since it needs to be calibrated with the supplied microphone. I recommend using a tripod if you have one (it is supplied with a cardboard alternative). The biggest advantage of the amp is its ability to control all video devices as well. This means that you only connect the HDMI cables to the amp, delivering the sound, the video signal is then routed to the TV. The image quality is great and it means that most functions can be controlled with a single remote control. In addition, it also integrates Alexa which might reduce the need for the remote even further, but I have not tried this, yet.Connecting your phone via Bluetooth to listen to music is easy (once you figure out how to reveal the device). I recommend using a TV as visual output. All messages are also presented on the small display of the device, but a TV makes this a lot easier.Overall, highly recommended!

Not very powerful, but OK.
I bought this to replace an older Onkyo HT-R494 that had issues with the HDMI. It was temperamental, but I threw the towel in as my wife's lacked the patience with the technology that I had. So, I bought this. The name and reviews sold it for me. Note: Ensure all your gear is setup for CEC and eARC/ARC settings on all your input/output device before you start. Set up was easy after this. It seems to do the job but I need to calibrate the sound output with my speakers. It lost a star as I don't find it as powerful as my older Onkyo, but this might change after my tweaks. Hopefully this will at least calm the wife down (for now).Update: Having calibrated the speakers (5.1.2) I can certainly say this amp doesn't deliver the volume I expected. It loses a star. Imho, it doesn't sound as good as my older Onkyo.

Excellent receiver
Set it up today following the built in setup guide. Made very easy with its AirPlay feature, and everything is included in the box to get the speakers set up perfectly for your room.Works seamlessly with the TV and connected devices. The 8k upscaling gives an unbelievable picture on my 4k UHDTV. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR 5.1 AV RECEIVER - great value for money, future proofed with everything that’s included. Running this with 5x Kef 301 and Audio pro sw10
