Can in fact fall off
This backrest installed easily and is extremely comfortable. That being said I did decide in my infinite wisdom to jump some railroad track at 50 and the backrest did manage to fly off down the road, but it held up well so I'd say that would be more my fault than the parts overall as long as you're not doing anything really dumb (like jumping railroad tracks on a 850lb cruiser) this is a great backrest.

works as advertised
Installation was simple. Took about 5 minutes total. It didn't sit exactly were I like it, so I had to bend the bracket a little. Simple enough to do. The pad is very comfortable. For what it is, very worth the money. If I were to upgrade, I'd get one that had adjustment capabilities and that could fold down.

Perfect for me
I’m 6 feet tall and 185 pounds, so this thing fits my back pretty much perfectly. It rattles just a tiny bit in it’s bracket, which I fixed with a little piece of gorilla tape. Overall it looks great, feels great, and is obviously built to last. Wish I had got it a while ago. It’s going to really make long trips more comfortable.

Simple install, great support.
My wife and I bought a pair. Her's has been installed, she loves it, normally she has back pain, 160 mile ride in a day with no pain. Definitely worth the investment, looking forward to trying mine. Very simple to install.

Not worth the money
Do not buy this backrest. It sits way to far back. You have to try and bend it so it sits forward to actually rest your back on it. You shouldn’t have to bend it to make it fit. And if you don’t have anything to bend it with you are screwed. Speaking of screw, it doesn’t come with a longer screw to actually screw it into the seat. The one on your bike holding on your seat will be way to short. Good luck trying to find a longer bolt if you don’t have one laying around your house. Just not worth all the aggravation. Why it doesn’t come with any bolts is ridiculous

good quality
My backrest went on easily in less than five minutes. The quality is good and it looks good on my Nomad. After I installed it I found that it leaned me slightly more forward than I wanted so I simply put the metal tang (opposite the padded end) in my bench vice and give it a gentle push with my hands causing the factory bend to bend about four more degrees, causing the padded portion of the backrest to tilt about one half inch more to the rear of the bike. Then I slid it back into the bike and tried it out. The one half inch bend made it fit just right for my back. If you need to put a slight bend in your backrest be sure to wrap some grey tape around the tang so that you don't mar the paint on it. And be careful not to over bend it. It would be better to just slightly bend it two or three times than to over bend it and then have to bend it back the other direction because doing so could fatigue the metal. I recommend this backrest.
