I switched to stainless steel plumbing fittings cause galvanized pipes rust on inside and aluminum fittings corrode due to high mineral content of my well water. This is my first experience with swing check valves. I like the fact that you have full flow in contrast to spring loaded check valves. Just make sure to install in horizonal position.

It's a leaky check valve at 30-60-psi.
Looks well made and well machined, but looks can be deceiving. I was surprised to see that there is no rubber seal. Just metal to metal with the swinging gate. That might be OK at the rated 200-psi but at a normal 30-60-psi it leaks visibly. I can watch the pressure gauge tick down with nothing drawing water. Our pump is cycling every 40-minutes. The previous check valve failed after 5-years, but it was cycling the pump every 3-5-hours -- and it had a rubber seal. Now we have to put up with these pump cycle times until a different brand with rubber seal arrives.

Perfect price I go to the local valve shop in Miami and theirs is literally triple the price and I run grout through mine so I go through them quite frequently so I need a economical solution

This check valve has been used for a wood salt water pool heater. It has not rusted at all so far and is working as expected. Very good product with confirmed good SS316, otherwise other materials would have already rusted.

Bought 2 for a shallow well setup, both unions were faultly right of the box - junk

It fits and it will do the job but it is not perfect. With just 60 psi of water pressure it dribbles. I'm not returning it because another one might have the same issue and I just don't want to redo the work. It will certainly reduce the back pressure on the pump intake and foot valve. Which was the goal. Note: For all I know this might be a normal result for an inexpensive check valve but was a surprise to me.
