sweet, fun, heartwarming
Lindy has a complicated life. She has looked after her five year old niece since her sister abandoned her at a few months old, her mother is in a care home suffering from dementia and her house is falling apart around her. Add in her sister coming back and looking to gain custody of Jo and the guy who broke her heart walks back in to her life. Pat is a bit lost. His career as a professional athlete is over and he doesn’t know what he wants to do. His father unexpectedly buys a small town and asks him to help revitalize it. Guess who lives there! The one he let get away! Lindy is wary of Pat at first, but when he offers to marry her to help her custody case she can’t say no. The more time they spend together the more they realise how much they still care for each other. Pat decides he is going to do everything in his power to win her back. They both have issues and they get in their way. This is a clean, sweet fun read with lots of interesting characters and is a great small town read.

Fantastic
This is really fun. Funny, witty, emotional and so much more. I love the Graham men and Harper's feminine balance. Pat's love for Lindy is delightfully complicated as is Lindy's for him as she struggles with past and present fears. Jo is delightful. Love this new series.

Funny, adorable small-town romance. ♥️
This gave me Hart Of Dixie vibes, so if you love shows like that, you’ll love this! ♥️As the byline says, this is a sweet small-town romance, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.The first in the Graham Brothers series, The Buy-In, focuses on Patrick (Pat) Graham & his attempt to win back the only love of his life, Lindy. After Pat’s dad, Tank buys the little town of Sheet Cake, Texas. Pat bumps into Lindy, and as if no time has passed, old feelings come rushing back. Now Pat has the chance to prove to Lindy that he loves her and will do anything it takes to prove she is the only one for him.Thrown into the mix, we have the adorably cute Jojo. She is technically Lindy’s niece, but in the absence of her real Mum, Lindy is Jojo’s mum. However, Rachel (Jojo’s mum) is back in the picture and wants custody, so Lindy has no time for love, especially from the man who left and broke her heart, but is Pat a blessing in disguise?Well, you’ll have to find out for yourself. As you can imagine, mayhem, laughter, and plenty of adorable moments fill the pages of this gorgeous book. I cannot count the times I laughed or smiled because it was nearly a permanent fixture, and, of course, the cutie Jojo steals the show several times. There are a couple of times I questioned if a 5-year-old would speak the way Jo did, and then there is a scene where Jo seemed to understand something that I thought was unlikely, but it’s hard to explain without adding a spoiler, but these are tiny things that didn’t stop me enjoying it.I want to say a massive thank you to Emma St. Clair for the audiobook. I filled out an online form expressing my interest in receiving an audiobook and was successful.I love closed-door romances, so happy to have found a new favourite author writing in this genre.

Cute second chance romance!
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒖𝒚-𝑰𝒏 by Emma St Clair 🎧⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5Thank you again to Emma for providing me with an audible code I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait read the next book in the series!✨Small Town✨Second Chance Romance✨GROVELLING✨Marriage of Convenience✨Neurodivergent Characters✨Closed Door Romance (sorry besties there is 0 smut but don’t let that put you off!)The Buy-In follows Patrick Graham a former football player and Lindy Darcy a travel writer. The two had a casual relationship whilst being at college but kept rules in place to avoid taking anything further as they knew they’d be going separate ways to pursue their careers. When it got closer to breaking things off, Patrick decided to ghost Lindy rather than formally breaking up with her only to realise soon after she was ‘the one’.Patrick’s father has just bought a town called Sheet Cake which lo and behold happens to be the hometown of Lindy Darcy, but Patrick shouldn’t have anything to worry about right because Lindy is long gone travelling the world and writing about it. Well it appears that Lindy never had the chance to leave the town of Sheet Cake as she was left with the responsibility of raising her niece Jo for the last 5 years after her sister abandoned her. When Pat realises Lindy is still living in Sheet Cake he tries everything to win her back, and the grovelling from his end is so good! I loved how easily he accepted Jo and already saw him as his own niece/daughter. He wasn’t obligated to be a figure in her life but he stepped up anyway 😭This is a really cute rom-com that has a lot of different tropes that come together to deliver this story, if you’re ok with closed door romances then give this a go! My only negative comment regarding the audiobook is that I didn’t like the male narrators voice, I just wasn’t engaging with him and had to increase the speed to get through their parts, otherwise it was entertaining overall.
