Lick the Bowl Good: Classic Home-Style Desserts with a Twist Paperback – October 1, 2013

Tis is ABSOLUTELY the best!! I mean I collect cookbooks and I use cookbooks, this is right up in a tie for FIRST Place out of the probably 2000 cookbooks I have. I use the Cooking from Quilt Country, Southern Living 1995 Annual Recipe and a cookbook my Mother taught me to use. But these are my "go to" and there has only been 3 until now. The recipes are easy to follow with common, understandable and obtainable ingredients. This should be in every kitchen. No doubt one of the best I have seen in a long time. This to me is right there with the Brown Betty, another great book.

This book is so adorable! The pictures are so colorful and beckoning you to create them! The recipes are easy to follow and the baker (monica, the cook book author) gives very helpful hints, even starting with what tools you need to make baking easier!This book was obviously written with love and you will love reading it and baking with it!Thank you, Monica, for sharing your kitchen with us!I bought several of these as gift, and thank goodness I ordered one for myself!

This cookbook is fabulous. There isn’t a bad recipe. Monica even shows you had to assemble the look she has created on some of the recipes. All the recipes have pictures. I am going to make each recipe in this book but the first few I would like to make are Cherry Almond Bundt Cake, Oreo Cheesecake Cupcakes, Snickerdoodle Cream Cheese Blondies and Pina Colada Mini Cheesecakes.

This is a great dessert cookbook! I started cooking from Monica's blog a few years ago and I have to tell you everything I've made from her blog has been phenomenal. So of course I bought her desserts cookbook and the first thing I tried were the brownies and short bread cookies. Oh my goodness!! They both were delicious. I will never go back to boxed brownies and prepackaged short breads. Buy her book. You won't be disappointed! I promise!!

As a long time follower of Monica's blog I have made many of her recipes and knew her cookbook would be an a whole other level of deliciousness.With every turn of the page you get a strong sense of the love and care that Monica put into cookbook along with all the delicious recipes.This is definitely a cookbook I'll turn to over and over. I'm very certain that many of the recipes will become family favorites.

I've been an avid visitor to Monica's blog for years and have made many of the recipes she has featured. They are always yummy. I was thrilled when I saw that she had published a baking cookbook and immediately bought it. The pics are just beautiful. I made the Buttermilk Spice Muffins and brought them in to work. Everyone loved them! Not sure what I'll try next. Bravo Monica!!!

I just read through all the recipes and have decided to try one a week until I bake my way through - I'm starting with the coconut key lime pie - yum!

I have prepared 3 recipes from this cookbook and they were all outstanding. The banana cake was tremendous and usually I am not a fan of banana bread dishes. Monica has a chocolate chip cookie recipe that will make you forget grandma's cookies. Her mini brownies with maraschino cherries on top are positively sinful. Buy this book if you want to impress your loved ones with your baking skills. It's sure working for me.
