Great little pump for Hydro :)
For those of you that are interested, I use 2 of these pumps for my very simple AquariPonics setup (Indoor Aquarium Aquaponics plant growing)4 Black Home Depot buckets, some basic plumbing, some growing medium & supplies, heater, pumps and one large fish tank. Works great!!My plants and fish are very happy :)These 2 pumps are used for aerating (oxygenating) the water where the roots of my plants are, because the natural circulation from the tank isn't enough for my 4x - 5 gallon buckets. Then I have one submersible water pump in the last bucket that sends the water back into the aquarium & another Aquarium Circulation Pump for just creating circulation for my aquarium & fish. Then the tank filter, filters the water & flows downward to the buckets again. I just adjust the pH of the tank, which is hardly ever needed because of the plants absorbing the nitrates & minerals of the tank and then it flows to the buckets. These 2 pumps alone produce quite a bit of aeration for an approximate total of (4 gallons x 4 = 16 gallons). Each pump has 2 outlets that supply air for 2 Buckets, which I then split into 2 air stones for each bucket. As for noise.. there's a little vibrating/buzzing sound.. but if you know about air pumps.. you know that NONE are quiet... they all make noise.. and this one is fairly quiet because of the rubber tips on the bottom. I'm more concerned with the output. It works great, especially for the money, which means inexpensive to replace if one breaks down.

Had it for 2 years still as quiet as I ever was, recommended.
Does it's job well, very good air pressure, my pump has been outside in the elements for about 2 years and have had no trouble with it.It's quiet and efficient. Recommended!

Extremely quiet
I absolutely love this air pump. It has more than enough air flow and power for the tank sizes advertised. It's also surprising quiet. Love the overall performance of this pump!

Thumbs up!
I started with a 45 gallon tank I acquired from a friend. It came with a small square shaped air pump that couldn't handle more than one air line, and was noisier than a rock polisher. Needing a bigger air pump that can push air and still be quiet, I turned to this product after reading great reviews. It is a very good pump, and extremely quiet. I've had it for about 5 months and it's working without fail or increased noise. Works perfectly for a 50 gallon tank, and can probably handle much more. It is quality built and can handle being unplugged repeatedly (I turn it off most nights to calm the water for the fish to rest/sleep).Inside it is actually two pumps, one for each nozzle. The pumps operate with magnets that swing back and forth opposite each other which minimizes the vibrations. This means however that ideally, both nozzles have to have the same resistance to keep the device operating at minimal vibrations. Plugging one nozzle will disrupt the balance and increase vibrations and noise. In my setup, I have the two air feeds going to a collector, which then pushes air down to two different air-stones. If you run just one air-stone or decor, I recommend using a T to combine the two pumps and then a regulator to control the pressure.Hope that helps! Get it, you won't be disappointed.

Amazing air pump always !
Very quiet air pump and they always are so powerful and great! The double air tube is always a plus instead of having to have a bunch of splits in your own airline. I own 5+ and always get one for a new aquarium and never had one die on me. 10/10!

There are different sizes
I have 5 aquariums in my living room area and all of them use Tetras whisper air pumps, they are quite, and last a very long time! I recommend Tetra whisper air pumps to anyone looking for quality pumps for their tanks!

A reliable pump for the price
Product summary: 9/10 would recommend.I have been using Tetra Whisper air pumps for at least the last 20 years. They are quiet, reliable and for the price a great value. I would say I have to replace them every 4-5 years after the diaphragm gives up the ghost. I personally don't find it worth the time or effort to buy the repair kits that Tetra offer and opt for a new air pump. I will continue to recommend these over some of the other popular brands available at pet shops.
