One thing I like most in Halocam is the way of operating the device. My previous dash cams had all buttons on the small device, once they are mounted to the dash, it is hard to adjust the settings and viewing the video recorded. In Halocam, I can just connect to the wifi integrated in the device and do any things through the mobile app. Viewing video and configuration becomes so easy. The video quality is very good. Seeing plate number in the daytime is possible under some conditions. In the night time, seeing details like plate number is still hard. One thing I could try is to tune the white balance and exposure, that may help improve the details. There are some fancy features provided by this dash cam, like lane departure and collision alert. I tried both sensitivity medium and low. My feeling is low is good enough to reduce the unnecessary warnings and alert you when it is really needed. I also connect the device with OBD port, with this I can read many rich information which is not showed in my car screen. With the OBD data halo cam will record where you have been and the detailed driving status on the road. It is kind of interesting to see the daily commute time and gas usage.I also found couple of things can be improved. One thing is the no tf card alert. I used my very old tf card at the beginning. It worked fine for the first few days and stopped working later. The halo cam did not alert me that the tf card was not functioning properly until I noticed that. The problem is solved after I bought a new class 10 tf card. Also the wifi connection time can be improved. It is very fast most of the time, but pretty slow sometimes.

OBD Dranined a battery
so I installed it and use it for a week. OBD charging - be carefull... It drained my batter which is 2 years old. Forget about ADAS it is more annoying than usefull. Picture quality too bad. I returned it and went ahead with 2K picture and charging with cigarette slot.

Awesome little camera
I read a bunch of the reviews of this camera and many others before buying this one. It is well worth the money. The features that this camera has are incredible. Heads up display on your phone, GPS trip tracking, OBD computer scanner to check your car for problems, not to mention lane warning assist. This camera gave my 2011 Hyundai Sonata features that are available on most new cars. Installation was quick and easy. I updated the firmware to the latest version which was also very easy (Beware that when you update the Firmware it will reset the password to the admin password). You also do not have to enable the app each time or download the app if you do not want to. Of course, downloading and enabling the app makes all the features available for use. The camera still records whether you use the app or not. The only reason I gave this product 4 stars, is because they do not have a suction cup compatible mount and the steps you have to take to connect to the camera to the app. Other than that it's a great product. I do hope in the future they improve the app so that mobile data can stay enabled. If you are having trouble connecting the app, do this:1. Disconnect Mobile Data2. Disconnect WIFI3. Turn on the camera4. Turn on the WIFI and select Halocam5. Open the AppUpdate 1/19/18So I have had this camera hooked up for about 10 days and it continues to impress me. I will keep my rating at 4 stars. Although it gives a great picture, it does have trouble reading license plates, unless you are very close to the car in front of you.

Excellent Dashcam
Excellent product. Good built quality and a very wide recording angle. All features have been functioning perfectly. Lane departure and front collision warning function ok, not too accurate but accurate enough to avoid an accident. OBD diagnostics i thought were kind of pointless for a dash camera, however i have used it a few times and its pretty convenient. The wifi range is short, you need to be within 10 feet from the camera but thats actually a plus since people further away wont be able to tell that a $120 Halocam is currently in a near-by vehicle. The video is very good quality both day and night. Will update in a few monthsPros: - Quality of video, day and night time- OBDII diagnostics- Lane departure warning- Following too close warning- Records if it feels a vibration- WiFi video transfer to phone- Small sizeCons:- 1-minute long video files- Cant change the wifi name

Stopped working after 1 year
The camera is working fine - wide angle, clear recording, must have addition for your car. BUT the remote button is not working. I was unable to pair it via bluetooth with the camera (or maybe the problem is on camera's end?) - anyway, very slow customer support. The problem is still not solved. I wonder how can I deal with the overseas seller? Would I buy again? I don't knowUPDATE - after 1 year the camera stopped working, I can hear it every 5 minutes when it notifies me "recording started" (it only means that it wasn't before). This notification you should hear only once when you start the engine.Money wasted :(
