Part of Your World: an irresistibly hilarious and heartbreaking romantic comedy

When you think Abby Jimenez's writing cannot get any better, it does! Emotional & often whimsical
cw: Emotional abuse, gaslighting, enabling, domestic violence Alexis and Daniel shouldn't work. He's a small town carpenter, ten years her junior, she's an ER doctor from a prestigious medical family. But sometimes opposites attract. This is already one of my favourite books. The humour is, as expected, top-tier. The opening bar scenes, and *that* photo scene with Daniel had my crying laughing. I also adored the banter between Daniel and Alexis. But as always with Abby's writing, there's a ton of emotional depth to the story. Alexis has the weight of her family's expectations on her shoulders. Her father is emotionally abusive, and deeply unlikeable. Meanwhile Daniel is trying to keep his head above water as he pacifies an absent mother. But they work SO well together that I was constantly forming ways for them to be together in my head (way before Alexis I had the exact plan she ultimately came to 😂). The chapters after things came crashing down at the hospital pretty much tore my own heart out. I was in physical pain with both of them. THAT'S how good the writing is. You feel their heartbreak. I fell for Daniel pretty much immediately. He was SO honest, SO pure, and such a GOOD man. Which is precisely why I struggled occasionally with Alexis. I completely empathised with her situation, hated the way she was emotionally abused by her ex and father, and understood the conflict she felt. However, I hated how little of her life she bothered to explain to Daniel. I realise it was part of the plot, but I feel like she could have at least answered a couple of Daniel's questions. Her internal dialogue managed to explain it, so I just wish she'd told him as well. That said, I loved her journey. Her realisation of just how privileged a life she'd had, and her evolution from pampered princess to part of Daniel's world was truly lovely to witness. Many of the scenes in Wakan have an almost ethereal quality to them, and that's a testament to Abby Jimenez's often visually poetic writing. I particularly loved the nature/supernatural elements of Wakan. From the unexpected acorns and thunderstorms, to the dragonflies constantly darting around. It felt cinematic. And, of course there's a dog. Very reminiscent of Tess 😉 Plus, a baby goat. In pj's! Also, I urge everyone to read the Q&A at the end. The origin of the name Wakan? 👌🏼Cannot wait for Briana's story!P.s. The Easter eggs! Seriously. One of the things I love most about Abby Jimenez's writing is the way she interweaves characters from her other stories. For those who pre-ordered POYW there was a special bonus chapter available for 48hrs, and both of the characters involved are significant in this and another story, plus there's mention of a couple of other characters. Overall Rating ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Heat Rating 🔥🔥Emotional Rating 😍😍💓💓😂😂💔💔😢😢🥰

Lives up to the hype.
I was worried this book wouldn't live up to the hype but thank goodness it did! This is my first Abby Jimenez book and it's a perfect blend of sad, happy, emotional with a little magic. I read the whole thing in a day.Alexis is 37 and a ER doctor. Daniel is 28 and a carpenter/mayor/B&B owner in a small town. Two totally different ends of the scale yet they can't stay away from each other. Their fate was written as soon as the met. It did get a tad cheesy at times but you can easily overlook this. I know this is meant to have sprinkles of fairytales laced through but I also got Jack and Rose Titanic vibes from it. 4.5 stars.

Abby Jimenez continues to surprise me!
Justin and Emma have a curse - whoever they date will meet their soulmate the second they break-up. When Justin tells his story on Reddit, Emma reaches out to Justin explaining that she has the same curse. After chatting with each other online, they both agree to date 'Just for the Summer' to see if that solves their problem.Abby Jimenez's books are the best comfort reads.Emma and Justin were both such complex characters and Abby handles them with such care. Emma is traumatised from her relationship with her mother, and Justin is dealing with his mum going to jail and transitioning into the main guardian for his younger siblings.I felt such a strong connection to Emma and when she finally discovered how toxic her mother really was, my heart broke for her. I loved that the author focused on Emma's healing first before her relationship with Justin. Justin was the perfect MMC and provided such much needed comedic relief into what is a hard-hitting story.Overall, a beautifully written story with characters you can't help fall in love with. Abby Jimenez is quickly becoming an auto-buy author for me.

Beautifully written
Oh my god. I’m happy to say I loved every aspect of this book. So many emotions. I love the characters, I love the found family aspect. I love the way the whole village is a family. This was beautifully written and raises awareness for abuse (mental and physical). 10000% recommend Abby Jimenez books!

Amazing author !
The age gap really threw me off with this one. But in reality it wasn’t that crazy, these characters are amazing. They are so unique and have a mass amount of depth and personality that shines through the pages they both give up so much for eachother and when they are without eachother you can see how much they truly mean to one another.I enjoyed the small town aspect where everyone knew eachother it felt like I truly knew the characters in real life they felt really real to me in conclusion Abby Jimenez writes the most emotional romances and that it what i look for in a book and point blank the best romances I’ve come across so far

Beautiful quick read!
Loved this beautiful story from the start. Easy to read and follow. Loved the connection between the two main characters and all the side characters. The residents of Wakan are just special. I recommend this book of you are looking for a nice, not too spicy, romance story.

It is a good history with a female vision.
t's a good story, there's a female take on a love relationship. There are parts that tend to be fanciful, but they don't compromise the whole.

Absolutely recommend this one
Love that Abby writes about an older FMC (38) and an much younger MMC (28). The story was healing for me and also funny and good. Btw, loved the dog and the baby goat 💕
