A great resource for all that involves Tinnitus.
Laura covers all that is relevant in todays struggle with T. The book is over 400 pages and she puts a personal touch to it all. The reader knows Laura has been there and she looked under every rock to find all the relevant information, so the reader knows all that is out there. No stone is unturned.Growing up a big fan of Mr. Spock, I can relate to her advice to be more like him in the journey to habituate from T. I truly have an emotional brain that I deal with every day, the book has some handy tips and guidance.I have read it twice over 4 years, when my T gets intrusive.

Thoroughly Researched
It is best to find authors who have actually suffered from this condition as there are tiny details about the condition that only a sufferer or former sufferer can know. Laura is very good, explicit without being too complicated but above all she is a ray of hope. She has kept the topics covered short and to the point. As someone with the condition, reading the book from start to finish would be a pipe dream. I can only dip into sections that I need to know about sharpish e.g. ways to cope and what supplements to buy. At this point I care not about what has caused this problem I only want to know what to do to be able to manage the condition or cure it.From what I could concentrate on and understand, I felt relieved to have found a fellow sufferer who has done all the research. I zoomed in on a simplest survival technique - how to mask the intrusive sounds. Great ideas here she mentioned a website called 'mynoise' which I had been unaware of. She mentions the possibility of a hearing aid - never considered this before. I've noticed that the advertised hearing aids of today are very tiny and technologically advanced compared to what our grandparents had to use. Food for thought and optimism. And those two bits mentioned took concentration of less than 5 minutes as that is the best I could do for the present but I am working on it.All her research is relevant in one way or another but someone with intense anxiety and intrusive ear noise may not be able to read it as you would read, say, a novel. However, when you feel calmer, and the tinnitus softens a bit, you will be able to apply a selection of her suggestions to suit your lifestyle. I don't understand why Doctors of Medicine leave patients high and dry by saying there is no cure and you've just got to live with it as mine did. This only makes the condition worse and the patient more anxious and panicky this cannot be good for ones blood pressure or general health. I had always believed that the number one rule for all Medical Doctors was not to make a condition worse than it already is. By saying that nothing can be done and just learn to live with it goes against this rule.Managing the condition to the extent that it is no longer bothersome, is almost as good as a cure in my books. But the medical establishment have not done their work on how to treat patients with tinnitus. If they have not done the research they should be honest enough to say so and steer patients to where they can find information on the condition e.g. online and alternative therapies etc.I recommend this book would be handy for entire families to provide them with a sympathetic insight regarding what this condition means to a member of the family with the condition. Well done Laura.

Lots of info I hadn't considered.
Despite all the info, I still believe tinnitus CAN be cured. Everything we suffer from can be turned around if given the proper information and steering clear of standard treatments. Just be willing to do the research. You will be amazed at what you will learn! Many blessings!
