Wood Carving Basics (Fine Woodworking DVD Workshop)

Firstly it's American. So resources at the back are for that market. But with the many specialist mags it's easy enough to get suppliers in the UK. I've only come to this hobby of late. The good thing is it goes through the tools, in particuliar thier sizings etc. Covers woods and sharpening. Pictures in colour and instructions seem well written with some diagrapm back-up. But remember this covers just about everything for a beginner so it's the basic techniques. What does it lack? Projects. As a book to give you fundamentals I recommend it. But get a second on simple projects to suppliment it.

Good book clear and concise instructions, a couple of plans would have been nice.

This is a well written book.It’s worth buying it cause it explains about all process.Plus the price is good
