This really does exactly what it's supposed to. The tabbed design is super convenient and fits right in. You may need to trim the tabs a little for some games, but flush cutters or wire cutters will do that no problem. Two gen 2 Pokemon games already rescued - saving and keeping time just like from the factory - with potentially more down the line! One warning: don't rely on the bits alone for opening and closing the games. From the factory, the bolts holding the cartridge together are rather stiff, requiring more torque than I could make just pinching the bits in my fingers; make sure you have a driver that can accept the bits, or a dedicated driver for these types of bolts. Since I had a dedicated driver this wasn't a problem for me.

The batteries are great, but the best thin is the included bits for the game pak screws are a better quality than the ones i usually buy on their own. I figured i was getting cheap thrown in bits just to make it look nicer as a product, but they really are well machined bits and immediately outclassed my existing bits and screwdrivers. Buy it for the tools and the batteries. Great value for what you are getting. Especially if you offer battery replacements as a service.

I had an issue that whenever I would save a game in Pokemon Yellow, when I would turn it on again the save would be gone and I'd have to start all over again. Ended up finding out that gameboy games had internal batteries that power the save capabilities of the game. I bought these and they worked perfectly. I used them to replace the batteries on all my pokemon games and have restored the save function. The only issue is that some of the games have a slightly smaller section where the battery goes and the tabs hang off the circuit board a bit. You can clip it off a bit to fix that. Other than that great batteries that do what they need to do.

10 batteries plus the tools you need to get started fixing your gameboy games. You get a great bang for your buck. You will obviously need a soldering iron. But these are fairly easy to install. The pins are the right size for the most part. Some specific boards may require a bit of trimming, but in general, the pins are the right size. I would rather trim than have the pins too short. So this is not a negative, just something to keep in mind. Keep a pair of electronics clippers nearby just in case. But I have only had to do this for 1 game so far. As for longevity. I have no idea. Only time will tell. I personally hope to get 10-15 years out of these batteries. If you are changing a lot of games, go ahead and get both 1616 and 2025 sized batteries. When soldering do not touch the tip of the iron to the rubber on the battery. It will melt. Adjust the angle of your board to avoid this.

I used this to replace the battery in my Pokemon Yellow cartridge, the original battery is a CR1616. The CR2025 is a fair bit larger than the original battery, which makes it difficult to solder correctly. It does however work correctly once installed.

First I want to start off by saying that the batteries are a perfect fit for the cartridge. On the top right corner of the motherboard you can see what battery you should be using and in this case for a Game Boy Color cartridge it is a CR2025. I got my hands on a Pokemon Crystal version that no longer had save functionality so I decided to fix it myself with my soldering kit. Doing the research for this is easy and the replacement was quick. In the photos attached you can see what it looked like when I got it (missing the battery) and what it looked like after soldering the battery on. After I was finished, I tested the game by creating a save state and it worked perfectly! Overall very happy with this product! It is very inexpensive especially with the amount of batteries that come in the pack. I now have way more batteries than I actually need but, this is more of a positive than a negative because I have enough to fix any cartridges that come my way.

The batteries in this pack work as intended, I have changed multiple Gameboy cartridge batteries with this kit. I just wish that the kit came with a bit driver that fits the bits as I don't own one. Yeah I know, I should probably have one at this point in my life, but the bit driver I have is for much smaller bits. The triwing screwdriver this kit comes with could have just a bit larger handle and I'd be happier with it. All in all, worth it for someone who already has a bit driver that'll fit the included bits.
