Wilton Disney Ariel Cake Pan for The Little Mermaid Cake

The cake came out BEAUTIFUL. I received so many compliments on it! It is time consuming, but worth it. The instructions are easy to follow and everything I needed to complete it was at the local party store. The star icing pattern is very forgiving, so you don't have to be perfect. I enjoying making cakes, but am in no way a pro, I'd say I make about 3 a year, and this was very manageable. The most difficult parts were the eyes and lips, but again, manageable. Toothpicks and a decorating brush (like a small paint brush for icing) are a must for this.

This cake pan is great and not too complicated. There are only about 6-7 colors to mix up. Do use the no taste red as getting the red hair color takes a lot of food coloring! Be sure to have extra tips and bags on hand so you can just put each color into it's own bag to save lots of time. Overall the cake was great but it was on the smaller side. Having around 20 guests at my daughters birthday party I panicked after seeing the size of the cake out of the pan and made some muffins as well. I'm glad I did as we needed them. My daughter loved the cake and everyone was impressed with how great it turned out!

You need to be somewhat artistic to pull this off. It's not a simple color-by-number type craft. But if you can do it, it looks great.It took me 2 hours to decorate, but was worth it.One important tip is to completely grease (or butter) and flour the entire pan. The ENTIRE interior surface area of the pan. You really want to be able to see Ariel's facial features and hairlines to guide you while decorating.

The pan was great and came as expected. This was one of the harder ones to decorate however. The edges for all of the lines in the hair is kind of hard to follow and it didn’t look as pretty as I had wanted when I was finished, but it’s not eh fault of the actual pan.

This was deffinately a great deal and it was very detailed and I recommend this to everyone... It made decorating so much simpler the tryin to figure it out on ur own... Very well pleased

My experience with these cakes is limited - I've done one other Wilton cake before (a pony head), 3 different times. This design was definitely more complicated, but still very doable. It probably took me about 2 hours to decorate, including making the icing and coloring different portions. But again, I'm not very experienced and this was my first time attempting this design. The instructions are adequately descriptive. I did dock 2 stars off my rating because the edges of this pan are *sharp*. I sliced both my thumbs just running a sponge around it to clean it! So learn from me and handle gingerly. It's a cute pan though.

We baked a cake in this pan. when it cooled we proceeded to dump the cake on a platter to be frosted. it stuck to the bottom of the cake pan.We tried it again using a different type of oil on the bottom of the pan to prevent this from happening again.It stuck again. fell apart in pieces. Terrible cake pan. Will not ever purchase this type again. I am not asking for a refund but I will never use this cake pan again, ever.

I made this cake for my daughters 3rd birthday and it turned out well. She absolutly loved it and so did our birthday guests.

I have lots of wilton cake tins they are the best and this is no exception.

The cake came out of the pan nicely and decorated as shown. I even am thinking of changing the hair color to match my granddaughters and make it look like her !!!!

Never got around to using it yet. but super cute!
