Austin Powers in Goldmember(2002)
Austin Powers in Goldmember(2002) is enjoyable and laugh out loud funny at times. I like the scene where there's white on white subtitles when a guy speaks Japanese. The subtitles "bleed" into anything colored white. Fred Savage was cast as "The Mole" in the film. Stealing Savage's identity is wrong. This isn't The Talented Mr. Ripley. The movie trailer for the 007 film Die Another Day(2002) debuted when this film was released. I remember almost choking on my dinner when Steven Spielberg did a bunch of somersaults for no good reason! The Austin Powers films are almost like Derek Flint movies; the Austin Powers movies have more sex appeal and toilet humor. There's a vomit overkill scene that was left out of the body of the film. The "Austin Powers theme music" is Quincy Jones' Soul Bossa Nova. As Austin Powers would say, "This is where the movie gets its mojo". There's a cameo appearance by pop singer Britney Spears as a "Fembot". Spears' "golden age" ended after 2005. Michael Caine was cast as Austin Powers' father. Caine was in the 1966 spy thriller The Ipcress File. There's a funny scene where Austin Powers speaks to his father in "Cockney English slang". Beyonce was cast as Foxxy Cleopatra, Austin's female sidekick. The name is an homage to "Foxy Brown" and "Cleopatra Jones". There's two Asian girls with "suggestive names" in the film. Austin Powers in Goldmember(2002) is enjoyable, but the magic was fading away.

Fun, Fun, Fun, For Everyone! Go Michael Meyer!
AUSTIN POWERS IN GOLDMEMEBER is a fun and fantastic film for those who like, farce, parody and just movies that break that fourth wall and talk to the camera. Michael Meyers (I Married An Axe Murderer, Shrek) is a creative genius with this character and if all he did was make these movies - he would make the world a much better place. This story takes us back in time to the 70's and even farther back to when Austin Powers, Nigel and even Dr. Evil were in High School together. Keep in mind that Mike Meyers plays Austin Powers, Dr. Evil, Goldmember, Fat Bastard. He does an amazing job and you can't even tell it is him.Directed by Jay Roach (Meet The Parents, Mystery, Alaska) the film tells the tale of 7's undercover agent Foxy Brown played by Beyonce Knowles (know for the pop group Destiny's Child) who helps track the whereabouts of the Evil Dr. Evil and the disgusting dead skin eating Goldmemeber.Everyone is back - including Michael York (Logan's Run, Island Of Dr. Monroe) as Secret Defense Leader Nigel and Seth Green (Rock Star, Rat Race) as Dr. Evil misguided and somewhat confused son.The most amazing thing is all the cameo appearances that are in the movie and how they got everyone to do a minute or two in the film. People like Steven Speilberg, Tom Cruise, Gweneth Paltrow, Kevin Spacey, Danny Divito and Nathan Lane to name a few.The DVD is phenomenal and besides all the extras, the best part is the revoicing studio where you actually put your own voice over the characters and play as if you were in the movie. The extra's including the commentary are extremely funny. If you have the other two - this is a must have - if you have never seen it - be prepared to laugh hysterically. Get it - you'll love it! Great Movie, But Beware!!!
This movie is an excellent capper to the Austin Powers series. Any movie that makes me laugh again and again upon each viewing is worth 10 stars, but I'm into this sort of sophomoric humor, Bond satire, and the 60's.The only reason I'm writing this review is to warn other potential buyers that the Infifilm encoding on this disc may choke your DVD player. Specifically, on my Panasonic DVD-RV31 this movie plays great when viewed straight through. However, shortly after you start playing the movie the Forward Scan, Reverse Scan, and even the Pause button are disabled. The DVD player sees these buttons and puts up the "can't do that now" icon on the upper-right of my TV screen. It is interesting to note that if you start playing this movie from the main menu you can forward scan all you want, but once you reach the position you're interested in watching and play it for, say, a minute, the Forward, Reverse, and Pause buttons are locked-out.I've never tried to use the Infinifilm extras: this problem exists when you simply try to view as a regular DVD and simply want to back the film up or pause, or skip forward. At least one other reviewer of the movie reported this same problem, but blamed it on the disc. I'm suggesting that it could be a problem with certain Panasonic players, or a very unfortunate combination of issues: perhaps Infinifilm is attempting to exploit features on this disc that are in a gray-area of the DVD standard and Panasonic implemented those features in a slightly different way from expected. We have viewed two other Infinifilm DVDs on our Panasonic with no apparent problems: 13 days and Rush Hour 2. But, again, we never tried to use the extras, so the Goldmember disk is definitely unique. The bottom line: rent or borrow this movie and test it out on your machine before buying it. Then, get it!!! It's Hilarious!!!

Overrated
This is disappointing overall but genuinely funny and entertaining in a couple of places, with some excellent music. After the rave reviews, and with the all-star cast, I expected a lot better. Some bits are so predictable and unfunny I had to fast forward them. Others are just incredibly cringeworthy. The misogyny, xenophobia and laddish nastiness on display isn't compensated for by sufficiently high quality humour. A lot of the acting is wooden and lacking in umph, even from the top names, save Michael Caine. I'm with Richard Wagner's Number Two, who spends most of the film rolling his eyes and looking bored. This, and the bits featuring Ozzie Osborne moaning that they're reusing old gags from the franchise, shows that even the film makers know the format is tired. It'll have the frat boys choking on their after hours pizzas but I really don't see how on Earth this is worth 4.5 stars.

I like Gooooold (Member)!!
I saw the movie twice at the cinema and I could not wait for this DVD to be released!Mike Myers does it again, and in my opinion bigger and better than the first two. The inclusion of Nigel Powers and Goldmember bring new levels to the continuing saga of Austin, and many more laughs too! And of course 'the secret was exposed' who knew! It just makes me want to see another movie, heh.One of my favourite scenes is the montage at the beginning, so many cameos! I think this is the most 'polished' of all three movies, and that's what makes it so exciting to watch. Also the transfer onto DVD is gorgeous, and the DTS-ES makes you feel like you really are back in the disco era of the 1970s.

Groovy Baby!!!
The best spy/bond spoof of all time, with Myers funny as ever as both the protagonist and the antagonist(s). This is also that thing rare in a trilogy: a third film which is just as good if not better than the first, a fitting end to the series.

Smashing baby!!
These are like the Only Fools and Horses episodes in that I can watch them over and over and still find them funny. Worth including in any dvd/blue ray collection.
