Rounded edges provide comfort
Solid, cork, yoga block with rounded, bevelled edges to prevent block from digging into your body during certain poses. I tried this "egg" block during a yoga session during supine heart openers where you lie down draped over the block. It worked really well. Typically, with a rectangular block, the edges of the block dig into my scapulae. With the egg block, however, the shape prevents this digging-in from happening which allows you to rest comfortably in these poses for longer periods of time in a yin or restorative yoga class. I like the egg block!

A unique yoga item – you’ll want 2 of them to get the most use out if it
I’ve spent days trying to figure out just what this little cork contraption can do. It’s a well-made, generously sized piece of solid cork. It probably weighs half a pound, and maybe is a foot end to end (2.5” wide), so I keep it in my bag and take it to class with me. It can be used as a regular block if you lay it on its side, but get creative and it has all sorts of uses other yoga equipment just can’t duplicate. As an aid for side-angle or triangle, with your hand on the side, you can adjust the depth of your stretch without taking your hand off. It’s also easier on the wrists (in many poses) depending on how you put your hands on it and adjust the angle with your application of force. I also found it to be the only aid that is perfect for pigeon. If you need a block under the thigh/glute of your bent leg, the point of this item is perfect. As a solo item, it can also be used in place of a myofascial ball under the shoulders and upper back. Put it under a foot (or two), and you can use it to deepen the stretch in your calves. I let my imagination go, and with TWO of them, you can use them to wrap your shoulders and as arm weights. You could also place them behind your lower back and use as an aid for crunches or to lean back and stretch. Also good for supported bridge. Probably could be used under the front of the hips/legs for poses like modified plank or if you wanted to try balancing/supported push-ups. For the really brave, I think they could also be used as balancing blocks or a support for headstands/plow. I’m glad I got this. It was fun to try something new.

I love my weird "wobble block"
So, I ordered this because I'd never seen one like it before. What the heck was it for??? I practice hot power yoga just about every day and decided to figure it out!After using it every day for weeks, I can say that I've grown attached to this goofy thing! The best way I can describe it is "it's a very advanced yoga block." Meaning: If you want the floor brought up to you and only a tiny bit of help with your balance, this thing is for you.On its end, it's kind of like having one very, very long index finger that you can reach down to the floor. Yes, it helps with balance *a tiny bit* but it is still quite a challenge! I like to use it this way in poses like balancing half-moon or revolved triangle. You can't collapse into it like you can with a normal block so it keeps you working hard from your core.On one of the flat surfaces, it helps to angle my wrist in a healthier way--think triangle or side angle here. Instead of a 90-degree angle, you can fit your palm over the crease in the middle of the side and rest it on a flat side and change your wrist angle to more like 60-degrees--much healthier!I've also come to just like holding it--think being in child's pose with your arms actively extended and cupping the ends, or holding it similarly while in a long half-pigeon. The cork is very nice and sturdy and smooth and feels good and grounding and somehow comforting to me. It also helps to dry my palms as it is very absorbent, and I sweat a lot!My instructor once stopped during class mid-phrase to exclaim "Wow! That's a tough block!!" when she first saw me using it! Ha!

Not Just for Yoga
I've never heard of a yoga egg... Then again, I barely know what yoga is. When I saw this listed on Amazon Vine, I immediately envisioned a use for it well beyond its intended purpose. To my surprise, it works exactly as I had hoped.For the yoga crowd: I find the yoga egg useful when lying on it to stretch my back, so long as I keep it on either side of my spine (two yoga eggs would be nice). Direct contact with my spine (in any orientation) is painful, since the yoga egg is just as firm as a brick-shaped yoga block.My use for the yoga egg will be under my desk, where I can rock it back and forth with my feet to improve blood flow to my legs during long sessions at the computer. Sure, I could get an under-desk stair stepper or elliptical, but those things are bulky, expensive, and look ridiculous. The yoga egg takes very little space, can be put away when not in use, and better yet -- it can also do yoga stuff (if I ever bother to learn how).Is the Go4Cork Yoga Egg worth having? Well, I'm using it right now, and it is to me.
