Fairly impressive for the price
I was pleasantly surprised by this tool, given how cheap it was I was not expecting much. But it makes the installation of F connectors much easier. It only works on RG 59 and RG6/RG6Q. I bought it mainly as a tool to install the F connector when I am doing cabling out in the cold, sometimes they can really hurt your hands when you were doing a couple of dozen terminations because the Cold rubber/plastic cable insulation does not like to flex/expand as easily as nice warm cable making installation of the connectors quite tough. But what Really surprised me was how well the cable stripper in the center of the tool works. I dropped main Klein stripper off of a roof so I just used this one instead to finish the last termination and it worked almost as good as my Klein cable stripper. Not a bad little tool for the price and shipping was quick too!

Made life so much easier
First, I didn't use the stripping function as I have a dedicated coaxial cable stripper; so don't assume that it is, or is not, a 5 star feature.I've found that different quad shielded cables are slightly different in overall diameter and characteristics of the outer insulation, and that my elderly fingers can't always push the connector in. Using this tool I was able to first stretch the insulation and then push the compression connector on. Just what I wanted/needed.

Produces more reliable coax cable connector joins.
This little device is one of the few cable jacket stretchers I can still find. This tool was more prevalent years ago when performing basic cable connector installs and outer cable jacket material was not as compliant as it is on better quality cable now. It’s handy to slide it over a freshly cut end to make a room to slide the connector’s inner ground sleeve below the jacket end. It also makes accurate double cuts with sharp razor cutters at the center of the tool. The result is sound, more water resistant finished cable that fights back against pressure from small radius bends and/or long pulls both of which can quickly separate connector from cable. Helpfully to reduce open grounds, repeated connector failures. More consistent signal quality.

NOT for RG6
Coax stripper does not cut RG6 properly. The Outer Jacket cutter does not cut deep enough to remove the jacketThe RG6 flaring tool pushes the jacket back about 1/8 inch making installing the connector impossible because the crimp will not be on the jacket.

The stripper is a backup, but the rest of this tool I use for nearly every single fitting.Old, stiff RG-6 is cake. RG-56 can now be fitted without mangling the wire.My Trainer, Supervisor and now, My trainees all want one. But I’m not a charity: let them buy their own!
