Q: This dip cup leaked a lot when I tried to use it. Shouldn’t there be a gasket or O-ring in the colored top to prevent this?

Ours leaked a lot as well. It needs to be manufactured different.

Q: How much liquid does the upper chamber hold that you dip the teat in?

I'd guess about an ounce and half. I moved to the spray for milking but sometimes still use this to dip cords.

Q: Does the dip go back into the container?

No you lightly squeeze until u have the solution in the cup and then after dipping I just dumped it out
