Near East Rice Pilaf Mix, Original, 6.09 Ounce (Pack of 12 Boxes)

Love the Near East couscous and have made it for years. Makes a great quick and tasty carb side dish or brown a few diced chicken thighs in the pan before hand for a quick meal with a side salad.

When I first bought a case of this stuff it was very reasonable. When I went to order a second case it seems that the price got jacked-up for no obvious reason. It's not an imported item, it's made here in USA, so why jack-up the price? Beyond that it's very tasty.

I like the stuff by this company, it always seems to be very high quality. I particularly like the rice pilaf because I can make a fast meal out of it. (I like dropping two raw eggs in 5 minutes before it's to be done and that adds a bit to the meal.)

My family's fave and go to rice. Once we started with this brand and flavor they won't accept any other rice lol. So fast and easy to make, delicious and savory every time.

Easy to prepare. Our whole family likes this rice mix. Buying it by the case is a lot cheaper.

We have been eating this for years. Everyone loves it. My family eats two boxes at a meal and we could probably make good progress into a third box. I only give this four stars because I'd like to see it sold in a larger package - larger boxes or larger cases (or both)!

Good basic pilaf. Nice addition to pantry for convenience in coming up with something for dinner. Minimally seasoned- this is the style you use when you want the foundation; add your own additional flavors. Though tastes fine as is too. Just depends on your preferences. I make it as a side dish, or I use it as a base in a soup (or "stewp" as I tend to make thicker soups when using orzo or rice, and this has both!). Can be ade into a cold salad, too.I bought from Amazon warehouse, so the expiry/best by date is real short (expected). But i am not concerned as stuff like this will last well beyond the date. I really like this rice dish, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it available, and the price is a little better than buying in the store. In fact, I probably need to buy more.
