Easy to clean, fries are sliced the same measurement. These are used in high quality restaurants.
Perfect for making even cut fries, oven baked or deep fryer. Yeah, you cn do it by hand but you cannot get it even. its easy to clean, actually takes less time than chopping on the cooking board, and you fries are cooked evenly, instead of the ones that are over or under cooked due to my slicing skills.

Easily cuts potatoes with the 1/2" blade. Heavy duty. Easy to clean. Holds large potatoes.
My husband and I often have French fries with meals, and I have wanted to make homemade fries to avoid buying the bags of frozen fries that often dehydrate and accumulate ice. In addition, making your own fries saves money over buying the processed fries and is a healthier option. A couple years ago, my husband bought me one of the highly rated French fry cutters from Amazon. I tried this potato cutter once, and couldn't get the first potato cut. I asked my husband (who could put more weight on it than I could) to try with the cutter, and he had a hard time getting one potato cut. Needless to say, this French fry cutter was never used again.Recently, I decided to find a French fry cutter that might work more easily, and found this commercial grade French fry cutter. I was hesitant to order it because of the negative reviews, but decided to try it. I am so glad I did. I received this French fry cutter today, and had to try it immediately. Assembly was super easy. Once assembled, I cut 1 1/2 lbs. of potatoes which amounted to about 7 medium sized potatoes, and used the 1/2 inch blade.I couldn't believe how easily all of the potatoes were cut into fries with practically no effort. Honestly, it took no more than 3 seconds to cut each potato. As yet, I haven't tried the smaller 3/8" blade that came with this, but am assuming this blade may require more pressure because of the smaller cut. I also ordered the additional 1/4" blade and pusher that will be reviewed on that product page.I ordered the black version of this French fry cutter that includes the 1/2" and 3/8" blades and pushers, and ordered the 1/4" blade and pusher sold on another page. I did consider the set that included the 6 wedge and 8 wedge cutters, but decided I didn't need these cutters. For these cutters to work properly, the potato would have to be wide enough for the center of the cutters to hit the center of the potato. This would require a potato at least 4" wide that is seldom found. In addition, cutting large wedges with a knife is really not difficult. So, to sum it up at this time, what I like about this French fry cutter is:1 - The body of the unit is made of cast iron and very heavy duty.2 - The blades are very sharp and easily cut through potatoes.3 - The blades are easy to remove and clean using the provided thumb screws. Spraying with warm water easily cleans the blades.4 - The suction cups are super strong to hold the unit to any surface.5 - Can cut potatoes up to 5 /12" in length.6 - The long handle provides enough leverage to easily cut through potatoes. What I don't like about this French fry cutter is:1 - Changing the pusher to match the blade size requires a screwdriver.2 - Once assembled, it requires a lot of storage space because of the height of the handle.I thought I should also add some info on how to make really great French fries. The potatoes pictured are soaking in water overnight to remove the starches in the potatoes. After soaking, they will be rinsed 3-4 times, and then dried on a towel. Once dried, they will be baked at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. After baking, they will be cooled and frozen. After being frozen, they will be air fried for at least 25 minutes at 400-450 degrees depending on your oven. I found out that cooling and 2 bakes are required because the potatoes release moisture after the first bake that prevents them from crisping on the first bake.At this point, I am extremely impressed with this French fry cutter. Since I just received it, and used, it today, this review will be a work in progress, and will be updated as I try the other blade sizes.I hope this review was helpful for you.

Well Made
It's a very solid build of a classic design. Makes very nice fries. Worth the $$

You can make infinite fries basically.
Works great u can dice a ton of fries quickly and other stuff I'm sure. Cleaning it kind of sucks, not terrible but u need a screwdriver to get the press part off to wash I didn't consider that til I used it.

Cuts sweet potatos too
The good:Sturdy, easy to operate, cuts potatos easily, sweet potatos less easily but still does the job. If you feed a whole family this is a real time saver when prepping up.The not so good:Need tools for simple disassembly before cleaning, blades are hard to clean and little piecses get stuck at grooves, this thing is huge. I think all the time I gain in prepping meals gets lost when cleaning.Overall I'm happy, finally getting evenly cooked sweet potato fries.

Solid, functional, a professional-grade tool
This French Fry cutter works beautifully, with a few caveats. It produces lots of fries with minimal effort (hint: use older potatoes for better flavor and easier cutting). I like to soak the cut potatoes for at least 30 minutes in water with a capful of plain vinegar added. This helps draw out the starch (the water will be cloudy). This is followed by two cooks in peanut oil, one at low temp to cook the fries through, then one at high temp for crispiness. Season immediately with salt and/or BBQ rub to your preference. The cut fries are perfectly formed. Your results with proper technique will be better than anything at a drive-thru, and way-way-way less expensive.I find the machine simple to clean. The cutter blade is easily removed with 3 thumbscrews (hint: have a small bowl handy to keep the thumbscrews and lock washers together). I soak the cutter blade in a bowl of soapy water, and then use a sink sprayer and vegetable brush to make sure all the potato gunk is cleaned out. It's a 30-second job. The body of the cutter generally needs only to be wiped off with a damp cloth. You can replace the cutter and matching pusher with a different size if you wish to make different size fries. Those users who are complaining that the suction cups are too strong should note that a small rubber column on the cup can be pulled up to release the vacuum. I like having the strong attachment, as I usually cut fries on my smoothtop range and don't want the cutter sliding around. If you don't like the suction cups, take them off and mount the cutter to a piece of plywood or install it vertically on your wall. It's also handy to have a shallow bowl ready to catch the fries as they come out. Put the cut fries immediately into water to avoid darkening. Two design weaknessses: First, if you're not careful removing the cutter blade, it's easy to have the cutter seem to fall apart and be confusing to re-assemble. The more you do it, the less this is likely to happen. Second, it's possible to mount the cutter blade backward. Pay attention, people–the sharp side needs to be the one in contact with the potato! Some of the folks complaining it's too hard to push the potato through the cutter have the blade mounted backward, as the machine is designed to give you a big mechanical lever advantage against the poor defenseless potato. This a pro-style cutter, the same one I used in culinary school, and will hold up forever.

It was really easy to put together only took about 5 minutes…. I’m giving it 5 stars even tho I haven’t used it yet…if I use it and see it’s not great then I’ll update the stars and let you know the cons but for right now the 5 stars are staying ♥️
