At last!Trying to track down a well made lap tray is like trying to find the gold at the end of a rainbow.I have tried 4 different trays and they've all ended up being broken in no time at all. Either the sides fall off or the cushion splits, or they're about as supportive as jelly!That problem is no more. This is a fantastic tray. It is very well made with strong and nicely smoothed handles/sides that you can hold it by without fear of the bottom of the tray falling away with your plate and anything else you have on it. The sides are slightly sloped (the wood) and provide protection against the plate full of curry disaster as it slips off and you freeze, unable to stop it! No worries about that happening with this tray.The picture on the base is a variety of garden related water colours - including a watering can, oddly enough! The other item is an old boot! It has Parsley written on one side and Mint on the other. I think the intention is to show herbs growing out of the objects. Let's be honest, who cares?Another important point to note is the tray size. It would be unfair to compare the price of the tray to cheaper trays because of how large it is (in addition to the far superior quality of it). It is a very large tray.The photographs I have shown on this review show the tray with a full size dinner plate on it, a large mug and a tall glass. As you can see, there is still ample room for more items if you really need them.The base isn't as padded as many trays. However, it is more than adequate and comfortable on the lap.The only drawback with the tray is one that is being very harsh on it indeed, and it relates to the wooden sides. Because all of the sides are quite high, if you were to sit with the tray resting on something such as a chair or sofa arm (god forbid), you might find that the height of the sides gets in the way. It might have been a design advantage to have one side, where your hands would be, to be slightly lower than the other four.However, the above point is very minor.Overall, this is best tray I've seen on the market and I'd thoroughly recommend it without hesitation. It feels like it will last for years.p.s. I've amended this review for one simple reason - months on from my purchase and the tray is as good as new. So good in fact that we've bought a second.

I cannot recommend this product at all. The first one arrived with a significant crack in the wood near the handle; the crack had been partly filled with poor quality wood filler some of which had fallen off. This flaw obviously occurred in the manufacturing stage, and a repair was botched instead the product being rejected. I returned it. The second one I ordered had no less than seven flaws, including two dents in the wood, three cracks in the wood (one repaired badly) and a tear in the picture on the tray top.I can't be bothered to waste more time on another trip to the post office by returning the item, so I'll use this one regardless and write off the wasted postage and price. I won't be purchasing anything from Aidept again.

This was bought for my aged father. He only used it occasionally. When used it only ever had at most a cup of tea & a small plate with sandwiches or biscuits. So never a great weight.When the handle snapped the tea etc fell to the ground, resulting in a large stain on the carpet. He was very upset at the mess he had caused.

Very disappointing, bag under tray more than half empty nothing at all like picture advertised. Tray itself flimsy glued. In my opinion this product is a safety hazard. Does not sit comfortably on your lap as bean bag is practically empty so keeps slipping off lap.. Too large for lap, safety hazard to carry any hot drinks as tray is flimsy / glued. Not sure how this tray is being advertised or even sold under lap trays on disability sites!! I am certain the actual box costs more money than having the tray made. Please if you want to continue selling this tray you really need to upgrade on quality and materials used. Unhappy customer. I should have read the reviews more carefully. Going to ask for refund.

Badly manufactured 2 corners dont meet ,side panel cut short and side of tray near handle chipped .Tray base is very thin.Cushion filling about a quarter.No support on lap . Size was nice but product not as in picture.A waste of money and poor workmanship. would not recommend . Very disappointed and RIP off. I have to say I ordered a tray like this for my sister before mine .my sisters tray was well made so I ordered one for myself from a different supplier and was very disappointed .To be fair the company that supplied my sisters tray, supplied and delivered as advertised.Perhaps there is a problem with quality control with manufacturer and this should be addressed? I would purchase from the same company if they had stock but the item was no longer available .
